You should be made to retire from ESB for making **** threads like this

  4. All boxers should be made to retire when they lose 20 fights in a row by knockout. Let Floyd Gayweather or Manny GayPac beat them.
If they can't at least knock down glass chin guys like Wlad or Khan

By that logic, you may as well abolish boxing completely. 90% of professional boxers suffer some form of brain damage. Its the nature of the sport. Taking heavy blows to the head is risky for anyone. If anything, a 12 year old kids that shouldnt box because their brains are still developing, but a grown man can make his own decisions.

If it's legal to be 300 pounds overweight and live on junk food, if it's legal to be an alcoholic or to smoke 80 cigarettes a day, why should the very small part of the population that pursues boxing be regulated like that? Millions of people die from junk food, yet parents are allowed to feed their kids crap that makes them addicted and obese early in life. Boxers suffer from fighting for too long, yes, but it would seem strange to ban James Toney from fighting while allowing him to balloon up to 300 pounds.

. Boxers should not be allowed to compete if they have been knocked out (not TKOD) 10 times or more- only one that makes sense

Usually fighters get retired by their losses in the end anyways, no more fights available. Some commissions have way stricter criteria than others like Nevada and California. Freedom is priceless, if the commissions approve them to fight then so be it, they know the risks coming in, very few boxers talk the same after their careers, very few football players walk the same after theirs. But if these guys want to fight and commissions clear them, what can you do? Larry Holmes was still fighting at 52, wow we would have missed one of the greatest boxing stories ever when Foreman won the title 20 years after first capturing it. Some guys just last longer, its too hard to put numbers on it, commission tests are the only way, age not being the factor, but physical and mental tests.

    1. I think the age restriction rule is valid.
People will say, "but X and Y are 38 and 43, and they are still kicking ass." .... but those are exceptions.
Generally, fighters diminish in their 30s, and take unnecessary punishment. any age between 35 and 39 could be made the limit.

    2. I don't like the rule about losses.
It depends really on how many fights they've had and how much punishment they take in losing. Some guys get beaten up once or twice and need to be retired.
Others can lose 20 fights, but escape a beating each time.

    3. Sure, anyone who has been properly KO'd 10 times needs to retire.
