Actually pac chose cotto right after the clottey fight, where cotto looked like ****, you want me to find you a quote about it?:good And Pac hasn't fought tougher competition. It just appears that way to a bias media. same way you put chavez as a great win for morales, I guess it not a great win for mayweather even though mayweather beat his ass long before.
I think if floyd gets his legal troubles in check there might be a shot. The pressure seems to already be getting to him. If his trial is delayed for a while I think he might have no choice. Unless he wants to be asked about manny pacquiao for the rest of his life (he doesn't) he's gonna have to step up to the plate.
I agree that this fight must happen.... but soon, while both are on their best form with no excuses afterwards.... this Mosely thing is just a hinderance, waste of time tbh.
so Pac has no say so in his OWN career....its never his fault huh? He can't tell Bobby i dont want this fight i want this fight?
I voted the second option, because both options are not really accurate to your question. Of course I'd love to see these 2 fight, but at this point it's not worth agonizing over. They had a chance to make it HUGE but now I'm kinda over the whole thing.
:good IMHO, I don't think Floyd has been the same since after he retired after the Hatton fight. He has shown he's still great but he doesn't have the same speed he once had. Pacquiao isn't slowing down to me but it would've been better had he and fought Mayweather fought earlier. I am a fan of both fighters but lets talk about something new like Montiel-Donaire & Bradley-Alexander and move on. I've accepted that this fight may never happen but it is a shame it won't. Oh well, boxing lives on.
Both should be good. Montiel is a boxer but mostly a puncher and Donaire is a "flashy" boxer with some pop. Alexander loves to trade and so does Bradley. Bradley/Alexander being a FOTY candidate wouldn't surprise me one bit.
I stopped caring about Mayweather way back when he said he wouldn't fight Cotto because Cotto didn't have enough fans.
Found a great video for this thread. If....and if...ever...the fight happens...I can already imagine the feeling once Michael Buffer announces the fighter's name as they enter the ring. It will be something like this... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi1It3Tg3fk[/ame]
They are still at their best. Floyd still continue to go to gym to keep in shape. Pac does the same thing. Floy has come back to boxing to beat Marquez, and Shane. Then Pac with all these distractions outside his boxing life including uncontrolled nature (Typhoons) while he is preparing for his fight). I still believe that the fight will happen. Maybe they are just waiting for the economy to get little better and they have the time calculated for when will people stop caring about the fight. That time hasn't expired yet and the talks about the fight is getting discussed on every internet websites you can imagine. Nobody else knows better than a promoter himself. They prob'ly think that delaying the fight will boost the amount of earnings they can possibly get. I'm saying all this as a "promoters point of view". I may be wrong, I may be right, but hey...it's possible!
This fight just needs to happen. The raging Floyd fans and the raging Pac fans all sound just as ******ed as their respective haters. It's a dream fight, one for the ages and if it doesn't happen it's one of the biggest sporting disappointments / fails of all time. If you're a boxing fan you want it to happen and playing the blame game as to why it's not is not going to solve ****. The fight needs to happen and that's that.
