First - I don't think I compared Peter to a unicorn or a dwarf. So we can put the 'mythical reputation' bit to bed. I said he's not stupid. Meaning he won't send Tyson into trying to out-punch a puncher. He may not have Steward or Dundee's resume as a trainer, but he comes across, in my opinion, as a fairly level headed and sensible bloke.

Secondly, I think Haye may struggle in the second half of the fight because the movement that is necessary to stay out of range against a big man like Fury is not easy. It's tiring. Add to that the weight difference when they're in close and it will take it's toll.

With regard to Valuev he did come on strong in the final rounds, but Valuev has no where near the movement of Fury. That's not to say Fury's great, but Valuev is just a big lumbering lump. Fury will take more out of Haye. Watch the Chisora fight and although he won in style, Haye was blowing hard towards the end.

I think Haye's the rightful favourite. I just don't see him having it all his own way.

Fury is no Valuev. He should win simply because of his height and weight advantage. In theory its like Haye fighting a 5ft9 SMW. Massive advantage for Fury and I think/hope he wins.

Haye is an exciting fighter. He is fast, has a hard punch and is vulnerable. The only two fights where he has not been exciting would be the Vladimir fight and the first couple of rounds of the Audley one. Against Wlad, who is the best heavyweight out there, Haye found it difficult to get in range and was wary about getting caught on the way in. Although he did a great deal of trash talking prior to that one I think he just found Wladimir's footspeed and boxing style much more difficult than he anticipated. Haye was just biding his time with Audley, being cautious and waiting for the perfect counter. The fact that Audley did not offer any offence only compounded things. Still Haye got the job done in style when the opportunity came.
How can it be said that he never brings excitement to the ring? His other matches have it all, knockdowns, knockouts and drama. Are you dismissing him purely based on one fight?

Best post I've saw on this forum. I agree with every point you said.

Isn't that his job? Who in their right mind would send Fury to war with Haye without a game plan given his massive deficiencies? Don't see how or why he deserves any sort of credit for that.

Did Haye not avoid getting hit too much by Klitchsko? He's quicker and stronger than Fury and much bigger than Haye.

I cannot see any way in which Fury wins.

I agree that this is not an 'easy' fight for Haye in that he has to be careful, but I believe he will make it look easy simply by getting Fury out of there in the first half of the fight. If Haye is unable to do that and the fight goes past the half-way mark then things swing towards Fury for the very reasons that have already been expressed on here. You can bet your money that Haye's gameplan is going to be on a quick flash knockout or stoppage. Fury will probably be a lot more defensive early on than we have been used to seeing as of late. Skill-wise this is a mismatch but if Fury can maul Haye and land one of those big clubbing shots then anything can happen.

Interesting fight though and I look forward to it. :bbb :rasta

Agreed. With Haye's it's clearly just scripted nonsense delivered by a stuttering little ***** while Fury has that natural gift of the gab that's on par with the great Audley Harrison who of course is the master of the art. Fury's a natural basically. Ironically when Fury was doing scripted "comedy" for that show that was on BBC3 or something it was rubbish but that's not Fury's game, he's naturally funny and a bit well, bonkers.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree on the outcome. Quicker yes, hits harder yes, stronger is debatable. I think it'll be close.

I think you're reading too much in to the Peter Fury comments. I'm not sure at what point saying someone isn't stupid starts giving them massive credit.

I know there are differences but when they get in the ring it'll look a bit like Herbie Hide vs Vitali.

Klitschko keeps the fight at range, with a steady pace. Klitschko never tried to fight it out.

Minute Fury tries to step in and fight at close range Haye will catch him and be gone.

I'd love a great fight but this is a massive mis-match.

This fight is a mis-match. Fury will have to come onto Haye and the first lazy jab Fury throws will be followed by a right hand over the top from Haye. Fury has been floored by random journeymen with this punch and it also happens to be Hayes best punch.

Has it not occurred to you then that that's the main thing team Fury will be working on?

I honestly believe Haye will end this fight whenever he chooses.

He told all his mate's to get on a round 3 KO vs Harrison.

Listen out for the 'Haye prediction' near fight time and lump on it!
