    my coach told me 3X1s, and yea, i mean i spar with some big dudes alot, so my body is used to taking punches, but i'm a little nervous of course, but i'm ready for it though, and yea i wanna have ALOT of amateur fights throughout my whole amateur time

    Thats not even bad by all comers standard. I went to one event, kid brought a gun into the ring... just shot the other kid dead.

    How old are you? If you're over 17 than it'll be 3x2 till your 11th fight, where it will be 3x3. Although the Golden Gloves do sometimes do things differently than other shows.

    i'm 17, and yea idk, i suppose there are alot of amateur tournaments out there huh?????

    Well there's all sorts of shows and local tournaments out there, but the 3 main National ones are the Gloves, USAs, and PAL. PAL you don't have to qualify for, you just have to be Open class. The USAs will usually strictly follow the rules of USA boxing; 3x3 for Open fighters, have to exactly make weight, etc. Golden Gloves sometimes does things differently because they're a franchise. For example, they often let non-citizens compete, which is usually a no-no. But people bend rules to make fights all the time, so it depends where you live, really. Houston is a good area for boxing though, lots of shows.

    well yea, i have my paperwork and money to my coach today and he said i should have my passbook in a month :D

    so except for tournaments, what other ways can i get fights?????

    There's all sorts of local shows dude. Not every match is in a tournament; usually gyms host shows to raise money for their gym and get people experience.
