Great trainer, excellent tactician and even after a bad stoke he's slowly but surely recovering from, caught Margarito and Capetillo trying to cheat. I was mostly silent up to the point of the official result of the investigation, but now it's clear: Margarito not only tried to cheat, but used tactics that can be charged as battery or whatever the right term is. Trying to fight with plaster of Paris loaded gloves counts as attempted crime and both the fighter and the trainer should, and hopefully will have to face the law and possible jail time. Luis Resto and Panama Lewis actually served jailtime for illegal handwraps.

After the Tito situation, this great man, Nazim, caught these cheaters who couldn't care less about risking the opponents health, they were after the money and titles.

In between Nazim catching them or not the difference is a possible career-ending, brutal Margarito win or Margarito losing by KO and going behind bars.

All Hail Nazim Richardson, this great person, who was at the right place at the right time and did the right thing!

Yes, he is very good at his job. Any fighter should count himself lucky to have him in his corner. One of the smartest of them all, Hopkins, uses him, and you can't get a better vote of confidence than that, can you?

Totally agree BB. If only more trainers were more alert to what is going on. Marg should definitely serve some time, he could have seriously damaged someone with that ****. I don't believe for one second that he didn't know what was going on either.

    Cotto commented on Margarito:

"I understand that Margarito not only played with my health but he played with health of many boxers. Only God knows. I have received punishment in my career but I never had my face swell like in that fight. In the heat of the fight I didn’t feel the punches, but my face didn’t say that. I understand that one year of suspension is not much for the kind of unsportsmanlike act that Margarito presented against Mosley. He deserves the same suspension as trainer Panama Lewis. He should never step into a boxing ring again."

Easily one of if not the most respectable person in Big Time Boxing right now. All due respects to Mr. Richardson. If we only had a thousand more like him....

I feel really bad for Cotto right now- i think the damage he recieved was clearly more sever than what Margarito did- and they both gave out the same amount of punishment. Its now clear what caused so much swelling. In a way- i hope it allows Cotto to move on- and sort of say - oh well i only have one loss and it s illegit - so in a way im undefeated.
Just a shame what has happened- Margarito has robbed Cotto of his health- and also tainted what was growing to be a glowing career. I wonder- how this also affects how wer now see Cintron- who fought so bravely up until he met the gloves of Margarito. its easy now to discredit everything that Margarito has done- which was impressive- but can we now take anything he did without an asterisk??

your boy has been exposed as a fraud, even with the plaster he can't even KO clottey or paul williams, only old golden johnson and mentally weak cintron:hi:

and your boy would need that pet punch once he faced a lot of angry cotto fans in prison:deal

i feel so sorry for cotto he was robbed of a win, too bad your boy can't do anything right without his plastered gloves, can't even beat old shane mosley and got KTFO:hi:
