Lol, the Cleverly before Kovalev would've embarressed Fonfara, Fonfara just went life and death with Kov's leftovers

Yeah right. Kathy Duva just spit up her dentures thinking about the multi combo jabs and uppercuts that Fonfara would put on Sergey.
Stevenson is ****ting bricks thinking about a possible re-match.

Fonfara is hard punching and sturdy, that's his thing. He's otherwise a mediocre boxer. He's kind of like Badou Jack in that regard. He simply can't win against the top guys.

Fonfara is not an elite fighter so no one has to expect from him to dominate his opponents like Kovalev does. Fonfara is a very good fighter though and a tough guy. I didn't see him going through life and death, I saw him as usual and at the end you could see who just the better fighter was. If anyone went through life and death it was Cleverly at the end, you can also read it on his face while Fonfara looks like before the fight.

I think he can beat everyone in LHW except Kovalev but if he would beat the other guys, it would be close and exciting.

People remember the Stevenson fight with rose tinted glasses.

He gave Stevenson a couple of really tough rounds.

Otherwise Stevenson won pretty easily. The scirecards weren't even close

:good I was with you up until this. Kovalev has never fought a guy that was not afraid of him before the fight. Fonfara has no fear and a solid chin. He gets better every fight and has beat better fighters than Kovalev has.

I don't think he'd beat Stevenson in the rematch, I think it was miraculous what he did in the first fight but he does deserve it based on that first performance.

It should have been a draw he was exposed as the limited fighter that he is if anything.

Agreed. Fonfara makes some of the same mistakes Cleverly does, he all too often gives up his reach and stands in front of his opponent in close with his hands up looking to trade. That was suicide against Kovalev when Cleverly tried it and it would result in the same result if Fonfara tried it, only he would maybe go a few more rounds as he's a bit more durable than Cleverly.

Fonfara is a good fighter, solid offensively, he has a nice variety of shots and has sound basic fundamentals but defensively he is similar to Badou Jack as someone else mentioned. A high guard, with little head or upper body movement basically the most basic defensive approach that will come unstuck when they step up and have someone that can throw back regularly with authority.
