You read it here first fellas, Ortiz will be in the best shape of his life. The guy literally lived in the gym for the last couple of months.

All hail to the new heavyweight champion of the world.

There is big disagreement when it comes to Ortiz in this forum. Some, like me, praise him as a real deal, while others pretend like he's a third class fighter mostly because of his age. I wish Ortiz could get in 2-3 other top10 fights to really see where his place is. Chisora, Whyte, Parker or Pulev would be good opponents to see Ortiz' rank.

Against Wilder, Ortiz absolutely has a chance, but I see Wilder in favor 60/40 this time. Yeah, Ortiz is older now, but he's in better shape and in my eyes Ortiz is the old fox who could learn more for the second fight. Don't forget, Ortiz is the first guy who brought some serious trouble to Wilder and Wilder predicted a 3/4th round finish in their first bout. Also, it took Wilder quite some of his right hands to stop Ortiz, who at the point of stoppage seemed more exhausted than KO. Apart from age, Ortiz has it all. He's southpaw, very technical, got better footwork, higher fighting IQ, good jabs, very high punchrate, good faints and is more creative in the ring. After all this, I cannot understand people who don't credit Ortiz at all. His fighting resume is not the best, but Ortiz is a high risk low reward guy.

I only wish this fight lasts again at least 10 rounds, I don't like early finishes in high class fights. Good luck to both if you ask me, but I support Ortiz. If he wins, the Heavyweight Division will be really messy and a rematch with Wilder is coming. Vamos Campeon!

The only way a 40+ year old professional gets into the best shape of his life is with PEDs. And Ortiz was already on them before when he was younger so that doesn't really work either.

And none of it matters if he doesn't have the reflexes to get out of the way of Wilders power, which at 40+ he doesn't.

His best chance really is to try to run at wilder early and try to get him out of there even if he risks getting blasted out himself

What Ortiz needs to do is relocate his training camp to Mexico for a few months and devour as much ground beef as he possibly can..... Problem solved.

It is not impossible for Ortiz to win. It is very improbable. If he wins it will be fantastic. Age is a *****. There is a reason for the saying "youth will be served."
Hypertension is a *****. It is a killer. It causes strokes, heart attacks and organ damage. He has it. It won't help him. He has the tools. Wilder is a one trick pony. If Ortiz can avoid the right hand....which he did not manage to do in the first fight....he can win. Each round past four will take more and more out of his tank. With that said.....War Ortiz. I am pulling for him.

Wasn't he in the "best shape of his career" last time too??

Just media pugwash to try and drum up some interest..

Ortiz's best win is Jennings who quite frankly is over rated to the max cause he managed to last 12 rounds against Wlad in his last career win...

Ortiz got found out last time and this time it will be no different.. Unless he can KO Wilder early he isn't getting a win (even then they might make it a Wilder win cause they are hoping for a Fury gravy train fight now he is a global superstar...)

And to think there was an outrage that Nigel Benn wanted to fight at 55. I don't see the same uproar here.

Ortiz is a live dog in this fight, but Wilder detractors won't admit because they don't want to be forced to give him any credit.

Having said that, I didn't really want this fight either.

He can devour Canelo or just shake hands with him before the fight. Should give him a nice boost.

Ortiz doesnt have the engine or speed/reflexes at aged 50 to be able to beat a young champion like Wilder.

When you look at the first fight, you can see had Ortiz been 10 years younger he would have had the beating of Wilder.
