That was a fairly even fight intil the black out. However, JMM used his head , something Pac is incapable of doing. He manouvered Pac right where he wanted him to be aka get him mad like " I am gonna get you ", Pac got all wild and reckless similar to what Mayweather did to Hatton. Plus, I was surprised that Pac ran into so many telegraphed rights, hell, the knock down was thrown from a mile back and it still landed. Fact: Pac has /had never ever any Ring IQ, that KO was beyond amateur ........ Fact: before his caareer is over he will be counted out several more times depending how long he will fight on. Yes Duran came back from a devastating KO but he had Ring IQ, smarts, excellent tech fundamantels he could fall back on, Pac has nothing of that, his only weapon is to overwhelm the man in front of him.............he has no fall back routine. If you think I am jumping on the bandwagon, check my post history, I have said for YEARS that he cant box for **** and is as dumb as a box of rocks inside the ring. Also, if he would have fought Morales in his prime, he would have not one but two more losses on his record in their trilogy.
to an extent yes, JMM couldn't of thought he was gonna trade punches with Manny Pacquiao and come out looking pretty afterwards he just hoped one of his bombs would land better on manny's jaw than one Manny's bombs would land on him that ko was not only rehearsed for several months, it was the plan all along :deal
Of course not it was close but Manny in the first three fights always started fast got ahead on the cards in the first three or four rounds we know that marquez takes over in the middle rounds. This time Manny came out fast used the jab very well in spots which surprised me I think he came out a little too fast to be honest. Suddenly he is on his back and gets up fights his way back what impressed me was Marquez's patients in the fight after knocking Manny down in the 3rd, he didnt rush Manny still respected his power and speed, he took his time to set it up again knowing Manny would come for some get back. That is the difference between an elite and a ATG
Broken noses cuts, swelling broken ribs and jaws are all expected in the fight regardless of what game plan you have
Did they plan to get their nose busted? No they didnt but its part of the sport and you do prepare for events like that in training which is why fighters have Game plan A B and C
But in this fight Marquez planned to get his nose busted up to bait Pac in . Don't believe me ask the thread starter .
he baited him by trading with him of course he didn't LET him break his nose, that would just be silly just saying that when you decide to openly trade, especially with an atg offensive fighter, it's a bit dumb to think you're gonna come out unscathed the plan was to fight less defensively and more offensively, and when the time came, land a huge counter
Close fight with Pac having some busier rounds. JMM was not in any danger of being stopped whatso ever. And his shots were more telling. Result: KO in 6 for JMM.
Evander Holyfleld mentality! Like Marquez Holyfied to is a counterpuncher. He likes fighters to come to him. A strong counterpuncher like Holyfield was always dangerous and ready to fire back even in instances where he had been stunned. Speaking of which reminds me of a question that was asked of Holyfield right after his loss to Riddick Bowe in their classic first fight. Holyfield was asked what was going through his mind while Bowe had him teeter toterring around the ring was battering him with shots in the 10th round. Holyfeld's response to that question was, "I was thinking, I got him now!" :yep All that aggression coming at a master counterpuncher, even when they're hurt a truly great counterpuncher will focus on all the openings being created by that aggression coming towards him.
Dude I know its hard for you right now seeing Pacquiao starched like that, But lets be real and read what the TS is actually saying, He is saying Marquez switched his game plan from Boxing counter punching to taking more risk sitting inside the eye of the storm meaning he was going to get hit and possibly hurt but in doing so sitting in the pocket like that he had to let go with the shots they designed in camp to give them the out come they expected. What comes with that? the risk of getting knocked down, getting your nose broken the risk of getting knocked out yourself. Sometimes against these bangers like this sitting on the inside like that is the best way to beat them look at Tyson Holyfield 1 Danny Garcia basically did the same thing to Amir Khan, he convinced Khan that it was safe to trade with him and Khan got caught on the back end with a nasty left hook that turned the fight around and ended the fight shortly after that.
