I mentioned in another thread how the fight Louis had trouble in seem to get brought up way more than the ones he didn't, and I think that really skews perceptions, I going through Louis next in my greatest wins series as well, so it's nice to have everything laid out in order. Joe Louis is a great, but he is also overrated in my opinion. He did struggle with other greats, or lost to them. To his credit he would come back stronger and beat his competition even if he performed under par in the first fights. He comes up short in most H2H comparisons as well, and that is not just because of time period, because Dempsey and Marciano have always done well in the Hypothetical match-ups. He is great, but he is flawed.
