*All* judges and refs should be subject to interviews on camera

If you want to ref or judge a televised fight like Martinez VS Williams, you should be forced to stand up for an interview if there is any controversy or any reason you'd want to hear from them specifically. There is absolutely no reason we should be hearing from the commentators and the fighters and not the judges in question. The Martinez VS Williams fight is of course the fight that made me post this thread. I thought it was close, could've gone either way. That means I don't think it was a robbery, but we all saw that 119-110 score and no sensible fan should think this is right.

This was flat out insane. There's absolutely no reason why a judge can make such an extreme and controversial scorecard and we don't get to hear from him or her. This is bogus. In ALL fights where there is controversy by the ref or one or more judges, each should be hauled in front of the camera for an interview. Period. HBO, Showtime, ESPN2, all, all, all. Maybe if they fear getting their faces shoved in front of the camera to account for themselves, we won't get these kinds of scores. Malignaggi VS Diaz had an extremely controversial scorecard this year, the Guzman VS Funeka fight was a sheer robbery of a win for Funeka last week as well. We need to have these judges speak up for themselves and have public awareness and judgment of their side if there is one-followed by publicly disclosed penalty when it's obvious they've done wrong and cannot account for their reasons. You could also call it a 'scared straight' program. Agree?

Agreed. You can't justify that kind of scoring.

Seriously, if more judges' faces were recognizable to the general public, then they might actually think twice about scoring completely one-sidedly. But, then again, what if the judge really does see a close fight to be one-sided based on a personal preference of aggression/clean punches/whatever as a main scoring factor?

    Nice idea.

We gotta stop this **** happening in the sport we all love. It's crap like this that makes people turn away and is why the word corruption is so often linked to boxing. Put some damn accountability to these ****ers and we might be moving in the right direction.

I'm all for that, and open scoring. Again this is kind of like the Diaz/Paulie fight. I personally, felt it could have gone either way, but there is that one ******* judge that has to **** things up.

How about they just establish a comission which could re-teach these losers how to score and also hold them accountable for their outlandish scorecards?

:verysad Open soring is a joke. You put that back in and you'll have tons of fighters running at the end of fights trying to preserve their leads.

That is true, I mentioned that in another thread, but at least the fighters would know what the score is, and the fans as well.
