It was a European Kickboxing championship circa 1992. Admiteddly Vitali was KO'ed by a kick to the thigh.

I was there for Sanders....vs Wlad. The ref was right to wave it off. The count was not full and Wlad was up and from the way he was scrambling around on hands and knees before a count of ten....now that was surprising...4th KD......stood square footed and with out swaying, with the fight waved off, slumped shoulders. There was absolutely nothing wrong with his balance. That was "shocking", at least to me who'd been watching boxing for fifty years. He's taken a hell of a whopping by the Earny Shavers of his generation, and Sanders was a major league hitter.

Against Brewer, he was on his feet until the hip of the ref put him on the ground after the round

The odd thing is this, I being in Germany saw both as 4-6-8 round fighters and at that time when no one in the US had ever seen them, they were the hated number four and and five (after DM) just after Lewis and DHL. Lewis was Hated because he was not an American, and he had manors.
The Klitchkos are white and foreign, and have manors.
Ain't it odd how if some one has manors he is automatically hated.

Of Course back in the Beginning, when the Klitchko brothers were still butchering German, and no one in the US knew they had manors, they were still hated.

Samo o samo, raciest and Jingoistic American haters, that hated Lewis, hate the Klitchko's, and once that was all at the same time. The three foreigners are not "black" enough and are educated, and worse of all had manors.

If some one had a quarterback with a separated shoulder, he would not be in the game....and rightfully so, yet if a white fighter has a separated shoulder he should have had it amputated in the corner and continued.
Seeing Vittialy was educated and got a Dr. In sports medicine, he knew what happened to his shoulder and that he'd be champ again. For most of you who never saw that fight, I was very surprised when he quit, having kicked ass the whole fight easily.
You don't want to hear that....you hate, you don't want to hear reason. You hate, reason, is ignored, it gets in the way of a good satisfying hate.


Odd how Merchant is the mouth piece of America, in he hated the Klitchkos....in fact all boxers, and called him a chicken...Merchant who thinks a hangnail is painful.

I will say this and this is true. I am an American and can say this.

America has become a second rate nation of haters. Fifty years ago, no fighter was hated, and only the Dam Yankees were hated... Now every team is hated, every fighter is hated....

When the Etruscans were threatened by the Roman's for 200 years, their grave ornamentation went for joyful, to hell filled. Seeing thier power slipping away, they grew fearful and self hating. Who else could they hate, the enemy was more powerful than they, and they were powerless against the fates.

Well look in the mirror, America is not the land it once was, it is second rate nation with limited industrial power, with a first rate military that it can no longer afford, and that shows in a nations Psyche. It can not even afford solid health care for it's citizens.
So a poor nation, blames it's own poor, instead of it's power elite which rules it.

When a people find the myths of thier nation to be now false, they have two things to do, change the situation, or hate them selves as worthless nonentities. And in hating them selves it is then easy to hate everyone and everything.
America has chosen the second path, and become a second rate nation of second rate haters.

That is the only explanation I can come up with of why America has turned into a nation of haters, second raters hate, in it is much easier to hate than trying to become first rate again, if at all, ever.

In that the normal American ESB reader here, has absolutely no influence on the fate of his nation, all he can do is hate, him, them and them dammed foreigners, who don't trash talk like them, who are trash.

American has become a nation of trash. Once it was hidden, only the lowest of classes were trash...now this lowest class has come out of the closet, here on ESB. My... I'd not realized, just how much absolute low class raciest Jingoistic trash America had to offer to the world.

Once the upper lower class of America was ashamed by such trashy low/no classed people, but either the upper lower class of America has sunk so low to accept trash as normal, or there is no upper lower class in America any more.
Lower Middle class has become what they deny, upper lower class. I'm sure many no class haters think them selves, lower middle class.

They have no class and I tend to doubt that they make enough money to be rated as Modern Middle Class. They may have dreams of being so, but wouldn't know class if it bit them three times in the ass.

It's not about the money Jack, it's about class. Class is a foreign word...right?

You can't see this in you grew up in the Modern Hateful America. Hate is normal for you; and for most of you, a jump so high as upper lower class morality and behavior, is beyond you.

You'd have to know what class was/is and you can't when you have null in class to start with and are and will remain low no class as long as you breath. To become more requires thought and effort and one or both is well beyond the capablilties you wish to exercise.

Hate on, that is all you can do. You will never grow up to be better. You are as "good" as you are going to ever be. You are ignorant, willfully stupid, and satisfied, being low class trash/garbage.

Vitali was NOT "handing Chris his ass". He was winning on the cards, but his inaccuracy was bordering on embarassing and Chris was more than holding his own, even though he was losing.

Byrd almost doubled Vitali's landed punch percentage.

 

Well let's just say without Vitali's injury Chris wouldn't have had too much of a chance winning the fight. Chris either needed a KO or TKO and he got the TKO. A win is a win, but let's not paint a picture of how Chris fought a masterpiece here. He survived with a bigger man that's an achievement in its own right but Chris knew this was a one time win, not to be repeated.

In that I'd never heard of Byrd before that fight. I had Vittilay winning every dammed round, the last round was some what close. That was the closest round.
Chirs was not holding his own ...watch the dammed fight, and don't parrot ****, you have not seen.
Chris was getting beaten easily.....no bs.
If you saw that fight as close, you are a hater and hate has made you quite stupid.

 

That's deep bobo, and you're correct. Only 50 years ago a white foreign heavyweight was crowned heavyweight champion and instantly received the American peoples support, Ingemar Johansson is whom I am talking about.

I won money on all three fights.... Ingo-Patterson fights.
Anyone who could KO Machen was something special. I got odds with Ingo, or I'd not taken the bet having watched Patterson as expected slaughter my man Archie.
When Time mag reports the champ INGO is partyining too much....I decided to see if I could get odds.

Seeing I did not have an allowance as a ten year old kid, I made my alloance by betting the fights. (Back then they had the tale of the tape for each of the One and Only 8 weight class fights) A quarter was big time money back then, 5 big Snickers. Two cokes and a Snickers.


Today, I'm more into how much thigh and calf a man has than then....you had to make your bets...so each paper had the measurements. I did not fully understand foot work and leg strength, then.

I must admit the last time I saw a tale of the tape was Holms vs Ali, it was illuminating. 209 vs 217 and Ali a "puffy" one to two inches bigger just about everywhere. Marbled flesh vs muscles like a Duran who was a puffer, who went from fit Hands of Stone to puffer hands of balsa wood.

I feel so sorry for you folks that wouldn't know the tale of the tape if it bit you in the ass....

I rememember reading about Tapas vs Berria, in Ring. And Reach was not even mentioned....had I known Berria had six inches of reach, no one in his right mind would have bet a popsicle stick on Tapas nor gone to see the fight.

I bet Patterson on both Liston fights...so I was stupid as Patterson back then.
One expected Patterson to end up on his ass, he always did... Not a glass jaw either, Ingo and Sonny were All Star punchers.

I think Vitali quitting against Byrd was pretty shocking to be honest. He should have finished the fight. He redeemed himself against Lennox though who, incidentally, never promised Vitali a rematch. Scurla, I'm not going to bother arguing with you about Lennox, you hate him and that's all there is to it.
