Yea I know this is old, but it has been bothering me. Manny Pacquiao went to what ever length he could not to agree to PED testing when talks for a fight with himself and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were in full swing. He would not even agree to a 14 day compromise. Not to mention the lawsuit. Than in what was it June? He sends Mayweather a contract agreeing to PED testing? Do you really believe that Pacquiao wanted Mayweather to sing that contract? I don't not for one second. Pacquiao and his team know that Mayweather is not the most active boxer in the world. They knew that Mayweather was not going to meet the deadline. We all saw how fast the Margraito fight was put together. This is after fighting Clottey. It is one thing to have one easy fight now and again but two in a row? No one gets more credit for fighting worse boxers than Pacquiao. Not to mention the fact that this will be at least the third time he has dictated the weight to his advantage (De La Hoya, Cotto and now Margraito). No one can make him fight Mayweather, and I suppect that when Mayweather returns from his vacation. Pacquiao will retire. This is asuming Mayweather gets past his legal issues. Mayweather after talks with Pacquiao fell through fought Mosley. The #3 Pound for Pound boxer on most lists who has Pacquiao fought? There are other fights that could have been made. Breto, Williams and Martinez. Also Bradley and Alexander come to mind. All of a sudden Pacquiao agrees to PED testing? Do you really believe that Pacquiao ever wanted Mayweather to sign that contract? Not me not for one second.
Well this is Pac prior to PEDs accusations. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpXFSG9e69w[/ame] Then you go watch his fight from and after Hatton, when Floyd Sr. Kickstarted the rumours. And tell me if you see any different.
Decided to go with the 2 stupidest parts of your post. First how were team Pac supposed to know Mayweather was choosing to be that inactive? 2 to 3 fights is the norm for most boxers in a year this is world class boxers those getting themselves up obviously fight more. And before Mays retirement he was fighting roughly 2 times a years sometimes 3 and I think he did 1 for 1 year. So why have any reason to think he would switch to once a year which is ridiculous. Once they fought Pac needed to make a fight since that amount of inactivity is bull**** so he picked Margo. [br/ ] Now the next thing tell me how Margo is going to be really affected at all by going "down" to 151 when almost all of his career was made at 147? But the big one is DLH. Pac a minor drag made the Goldenboy come down 4 pounds so he could come up 2 weight classes to give himself an advantage? Read that sentence and that is the level of stupidity your implying. DLH made the weight requirement; he basically dictated all of the terms. Not just that he said before that the catchweight fight before that fight was in preparation of moving back to 147 where the fight took place. Him draining DLH holds as much water as a sieve.
I guess these half-wit *****s are so blinded by love that they will just continue to try to defend thier pathetic hero to the bitter end. How romantic.
Good post. People always want to put Pac down for the DLH fight because of what happened (DLH losing the weight the wrong way) but they seem to forget about what happened before the fight. Pac had only fought one fight at 135 (vs Diaz) pre DLH. Before that he had campaigned at 130 and lower his entire career. There was a huge backlash against DLH at the time and a lot of people on here, on other sites and even boxing journalists said they were not going to watch the fight because DLH was just picking on the smaller Pac for a good pay day. They said DLH should fight Margo because he would destroy Pac. The fact that DLH ****ed the weight up by losing it to quickly and coming in weak is not Pac's fault. This wasn't a hastily thrown together fight. DLH had plenty of time to lose the weight gradually in the proper way thus giving him a better chance. Giving Pac **** for the Clottey fight is also bull ****. People gave Pac a hard time for making DLH drop weight and for fighting Cotto at a catchweight. So what does Pac do? He fights a guy who is a recognised and respected 147 pounder and who is also massive at the weight. By the time they stepped into the ring it was a welter weight Vs a middleweight. Is it Pacs fault that Clottey fought so bad? Clottey was a known warrior and hard nut. No one could have known before hand that he would bottle it and fight so negatively.
It's really amazing how you joyboys spin everything into your favor. Even Manny's "YES let's do it" to your boyfriend's "Wait I am on a vacation" TS give me a break..... change your name to Spin City. :good
