Overrated compared to whom? If you look at the other P4P king: Floyd Mayweather, Pac's wins seem pretty impressive.

Since JLC in 2002...Floyd's wins over the past 7 years consist of

Sosa (35-2-2), N'dou(31-1-0)mandatory, Corley(28-2-1), Bruseles(21-2-1), Gatti(39-6-0) , Mitchell(56-4-0), Judah(34-3-0) off of a loss to a journeyman, Baldomir(43-9-6)the journeyman who beat Judah, Oscar DLH (38-4-0), Ricky Hatton at 147(43-0), and last but not least, JMM at 144(50-4-1)

Most impressive victories, by far were against a past his prime DLH who's not an effective aggressor, and an undefeated Ricky Hatton who is suspect at 147.

Wow...and you have the nerve to criticize Pac's last 10 fights?

Time to start noticing the double standard.

Listen up everyone being a fan of a particular fighter does not mean we can not be appreciative of the other fighter especially a quality one. By way of example I have and have always had a lot of time for Miguel Cotto ever since I first saw him as an amateur in the Olympics the same Olympics my fighter fought in. If I had a son and he boxed I would love him to fight just like Cotto. I have paid very close interest to his career. I think Bob Arum, Top Rank, Miguel, his father, estranged uncle and Team Cotto need to be applauded for the way he has been brought up in the game. Ever before he won his first title at 140 he was matched against quality guys on the rise. Okay maybe he is not quite as good as the great Felix Trinidad or Wilfredo Benitez from his native Puerto Rico but then few rarely are. I picked Cotto to beat Pacman and it is not a prediction I am ashamed off even with hindsight. It is my contention that Cotto had the tools to win this fight as demonstrated by the 1st round and early rounds until he got caught decisively the 2nd time. The key for Cotto winning this fight was to box same as he did against Shane Mosley but he got out of his grove trying to physically overpower the smaller man. While there was some success the problem is that it gave the faster Pacman to the opportiunity to catch him clean with his fast power shots. Cotto as those of us who studied him know there has always been some vulnerability about him. Another thing I love about Cotto is his magnanimity. No bull **** no excuses after he lost. He has never made excuses for losing to Margarito despite the real chance Margarito's gloves may have been doctored. He congratulated Pacman who admitted that Cotto is not the easiest of opponents. Pacman has to be appluaded is my view. Yes I will bet handsomely that he will be knocked out by either Shane Mosley and PBF and struggle with Marquez, as they say styles make fights however irrespective of whatever happens from now on Pacman cannot be denied his greatness. Furthermore he is a really good person as well.

    Very excellent post, bro!!

Cotto, despite what the popular sentiment is among the forums, is a special fighter. Arum brought Cotto up the right way. His matchmaking is second to none...Golden Boy should pay close attention to Top Rank.

Cotto's loss is attributed to an inexperienced trainer with a flawed fight plan. They tried to emulate Erik Morales's performance in his win over the Pacman not realizing that Cotto couldn't fight at that pace for 12 rounds in an actual fight against Pac. If you look closely, his fight style is almost exactly like Morales during their first brawl.

Thanks for the compliment. A special fighter Cotto most certainly is. Only special fighters can beat the likes of a Shane Mosley.

that is because akl these guys are top fighters. When top boxers fight each other, one of them has to lose. That is why in most elite boxer's careers they go unbeaten, or near enough unbeaten, for the first 30 or so fights of their career, and usually then lose 2, 3, 4 or more of their last ten fights because that is when they start meeting the other best boxers in their division.

Many of Pac's opponents have lost fights because they are fighting at world class level - indeed it is most unusual to get seasoned unbeaten boxers. Most unbeaten boxers are still comparative noobs, and less than a handful of fighters at world class level in boxing history have gone unbeaten to the end of their careers.
