All of the reasons Pacquiao looked good against Oscar do not apply against PBF

I keep reading what a tough fight Pacman will be for PBF and how he even might win or school Floyd.

Although I admit Pacman looked amazing Saturday night, all of the reasons he beat Oscar do not apply in a fight against PBF. Lets not forget this year Pacman's history is: a VERY close fight with JMM, KO over Diaz (who isnt the best at 135) and a demolition of Oscar.

Looking at the reasons Pac was able to demolish Oscar versus how they apply to Floyd:

    1. Speed: Pac was too fast for DLH. Against PBF the speed differences will be much closer.

    2. Southpaw stance: Roach took advantage that Oscar depends on his jab and left hook and doesnt use right hand. His left isnt as effective against a southpaw and he hasnt fought one in over 10 years.

PBF has a great lead right and also a good right hand in combos. He can use either hand unlike DLH. He also fought and UD'd Judah who is a southpaw and is faster than him.

    3. Defense: Pac was able to connect on DLH at will. It was suprising as DLH recently showed good defense in the PBF fight. PBF will be much harder to land on than DLH.

    4. Stamina: DLH has been known for years to tire out in the late rounds. We have never seen PBF tired. He trains year round and spars 15 rounds, his stamina is excellent.

    5. Physical Strength: DLH was lighter than expected and Pac was the stronger guy and able to control him if he needed to. PBF's conditioning is top notch. The hatton camp underestimated his strength and thought they could outwork and manhandle floyd. They were wrong when PBF was the stronger fighter and also the stronger man in the clinches. He also has some good tricks up his sleeve on the inside such as his elbows and tricky defense.

    6. Weight: DLH was weakened from having to make 147. PBF is very strong at that weight. If Roach wants to negotiate a catchweight, PBF will be able to make it and in a healthy way.

Mayweather is a much tougher opponent for Pacquiao than DeLaHoya, but it's still an intriguing fight.

all you have to know is this.... who cares what manny has done in the past and what he did to oscar.... do you really think that if pacman fought mayweather he would look the same as those previous fights? c'mon now, thats old news now... i promise you that if pac and mayweather fight pacman would have a game plan on how to fight floyd.. pacman is always prepared... roach isnt stupid , he knows what they would be up against and he would never let pacquiao get in the ring unprepared... pacman vs mayweather = pacman has new tricks up his sleeve i can gaurantee you that.

Before DLH everyone said pac had no chance with PBF.Pac is with out a dout improving drastically with in his last two fights. I thnik Pac will get on PBF now and I dont feel im going on a limbv by saying that.

Pac can win a decision.. dont think for minute that Roach will use an aggressive gameplan against a counterpuncher like Floyd

Pacs fast and athletic enough to pot shot the potshotter.. Floyd will not engage Pac thats for sure..and if Pacs visually busier, I wouldnt be surprised if he gets a decision

So you think Pac could outbox and outland PBF from the outside?

Do you see him winning on activity or do you think he could be landing the better shots?

I would concede its possible PBF could drop rounds if he is not active enough but I see him landing the better shots. His defense is much better than DLH's, he isnt going to be hit like that and he is much faster, Pac cant just jump in on him like he did on DLH.

No I flat out believe that Pac can get though some shots just from pure handspeed..Floyd d is great but hes been tagged before hes not untouchable.

The more important thing here is for Pac not to get hit...hes got solid defensive skills as long as hes not overaggressive..

Again he needs to fight conservatively and pick his shots..he aint throwing those power combos against Floyd or hed get something coming back

Pac will via decision if PBF will ride on his bicycle.
If both engage in toe-to-toe, Pac has the slight edge.

    Pac's known secret: Freddie Roach.

Why do you see Pac having the edge if they trade?

Mayweather is very good on the inside. He is good at holding, throwing elbows and using his shoulders to block shots on the inside.

If Floyd does go on his bicycle and stay on the outside, how do you see Pac outboxing floyd from the outside? Pac will not have that huge speed advantage that he had on DLH. Also, unlike DLH, Floyd also has a lead right to shoot at Pac from the outside.

And here we are again discrediting Pac. as of now I would kinda agree Pac has slim chances against PBF but we never know how good a full unleashed Pac is right now.

Roach knows his limitation and his fighter's limitation, Thats why he would push a Hatton first to even the score at Mayweather. Pac holds 1 of 2 of Mayweathers thing.

Mayweather: SD Win against Hoya, KO win against Hatton
Pacquiao: KO win against Hoya, ??? Hatton

If(the big if) by chances Pac got passed hatton, then and only then will Roach approve the fight against Mayweather.
