If Roy is a 4 - 1 Favorite I'd take Tito with those odds. Roy's strengths have been fading fast, Roy should win though. But I'm curious what the odds are
i think rjj's ability to anticipate punches could be a factor, because that's not going to fade like strength/speed, etc.
Everyone is certain Jones will win, but I'm not so sure. This is going to be a cautious fight, I think, and Trinidad may have more left in the tank physically. Jones is the kind of fighter -- reliant on speed and reflexes almost entirely -- who gets shot in the worst way. And he can't fight for 12 rounds, and he'll spend a lot of time on the ropes. He could get outworked and simply be unable to fire. I wouldn't bet on either guy.
I actually agree. This is one of those fights we're the so called winner is easy to pick, but the winner is also shot as **** and hasn't looked good in YEARS. Very rarely do I get "feelings" regarding the outcomes of fights, but in all honesty, I can see Roy ending up on his back. Maybe, of course. With that said, Roy says it good, and I like to say it to - Tito's gotta go in fo'!
I just never feel good about a fighter who has lost his legs, and Roy has lost his completely. The fact that he has quick hands still makes some people forget that he has something left, but those legs left the building in 2003. It's one thing to never be that athletic and develop a style that works, but guys who have mutant athleticism typically can't adjust. Roy epitomizes what a reflex fighter is all about, and now that he can't move. ... there are just too many ways he can be beaten. But, of course, Trinidad is vulnerable as well. I'll be furious if Calzaghe ever fights either of these guys.
The jab WASN'T his still. But if you watched his most recent fight, and his fight with Ajamu... he used his jab a lot. Also he's throwing more body shots than he used to, he's throwing quite a few actually. He doesn't seem to be throwing with as much power as he used to, but he still throws lead right hands and lead left hooks so he still has opportunities for strange knockouts though.
That's the reality and the money fight and I understand it's business, but competitively I don't think Hopkins has much left, either. He looked like a really old man against Winky. I don't want to hijack the thread, but personal preference would be Chad Dawson, or at least Clinton Woods. Both of those fights have meaning and would offer Joe with a challenge.
