On balance I'd say he was still 'elite', look at the respect the man got...look at the bookies odds pre-fight... where is the evidence he was on the slide? Where?

Hatton was the dominant force at 140 for 4 years after that...so he was clearly world class himself at that juncture, but Tszyu still made him dig deep into his soul for that win.

I don't think Hatton was ever quite the same again.

Tszyu was not at his peak, few are at that age, but he was still formidable.

I wouldnt have a clue. But it wouldnt surprise me. Hatton has a habit of engaging his mouth way before he's brain has woken up. Either way he said he wants to promote the bout if he does fight Khan. Thats as good as saying the fight wont happen in my eyes.

Would rather see him leave it knocked on the head, I think he retired at the right time because he didn't have the fight in him anymore. I could be wrong but I can't recall seeing a guy rediscover it with any great success after a what 3 year hiatus from the ring? (OK you could argue Leonard but that was an enforced absence on medical grounds rather than because he just couldn't do it anymore)

Hatton should leave the boxing to entertaining fighters, and stick to doing what he's best at, which is talking about himself. Stick to the dinner speaking where we don't all have to keep hearing his bollocks. Stay at home with the waxwork, anything but continuing to hurt the sport.

WTF are you on about you numpty?!
Just cos you dont like him it doesn't equate to him being bad for the sport, its really sad to see how someone who clearly knows a little about boxing can be made to look like a dickhead because of his own dislike of a fighter.
Grow up and get on with your life mate.

Brodie was shot when he left the sport previously. It is very sad that Ricky's promotional clout (such as it is) is being used to make a few quid out of a lad who should stay out for his own good. As for Ricky v Khan. Good one as a ticket seller in UK if it can be made, but Hatton would also be well advised to stay out. Not that he will though. I suspect Sky's eight fight deal - an extraordinary parting shot by Vic Wakeling - was given on the basis that the Hitman would return on their network. So avarice and ego will propel him to another payday. Two fragile fighters. One is young, fast and chinny. The other could conceivably be shot. Certainly Lazcano and Pacquiao showed the punch resistance is going and may be gone. Hatton now surrounds himself with back slappers who will want another ride on the gravy train, but he should take a look at his bank account and decide the fighting days are behind him. No disgrace in losing, but does he really want to run the risk of being humilliated and outsped by a fighter (Khan) who he would probably have beaten at his best?
Stay out Ricky. We love the memories, so why wind up as an opponent?

:deal This. It's just like a fair few people who know a bit about football turn into drooling idiots unable to think rationally or string a sentence together when David Beckham is mentioned despite. Don't seem to like his celebrity despite him being one of the best English players of his generation. Swollocks **** off and molest some Asian ladyboys you dribbling ******!

Good news for Khan. A "passing the torch" type fight will probably be the byline to it. I hope Khan beats him and he retires soon. No pride in being paid big bucks to get beaten up every 6 months.

No matter which way you try and spin it, Tszyu was 35 and inactive. Yes he bulldozed Mitchell but Mitchell was shot himself, I cite his big struggle with Mike "at least one joke" Stewart. Tszyu had also previously looked distinctly unimpressive against Leija.
Definitely Hatton's best win and a good one, it was a fading Tszyu though and Hatton was done a lot of favours by the ref.

hardly, there are plenty who seem to share each and every one of my views on this. Are we all dribbling morons? Or simply people smart enough to see through a fraud and not have the wool pulled over our eyes?

Although Kostya was definitly part his best he didnt look that bad against Leija. I remember the fight clearly. He did put on a clinic vs Tackie. By that time though Kostya was fighting once a year loosing his titles one by one and had very little interest in the sport. The only reason why he fought Ricky is because he made a career purse. He said himself he wanted to fight Harris and call it a day.

And for every one of you, about 50 who think you're absolute nutcases. That's what happens with irrational haters, as with the Beckham example they form an irrational dislike to someone who has made a success of themselves and take every opportunity to criticse trivial points, sharing notes as they go and follow the "if you repeat something often enough some idiot will start to believe it" line. There is a medical term for it, can't remember what it's called but it's pathetic nonetheless. Not particularly liking one or two points about a particular fighter is one thing, starting thread after thread on a regular basis seeking to score petty little points about everything from his girlfriend to his support for his football team (and inventing spare logins to do it), this is why you lack credibility on this board.

If "having the wool pulled over your eyes" equates to being rational enough to acknowledge and respect a fighter for what he has achieved rather than seeking to start thread after thread putting a negative twist on everything and often resorting to downright lies then long live the wool that's what I say.
