on what looks like his impending retirement.

    failed brain scan.

he was a good warrior and always brought the action and fought some of the best when they were in their primes.

Good luck in future endevours Michael, you provided some excellent action on our shores.

I hope the retirement is just precautionary and he hasn't already seriously damaged his health.

Same. Great fighter in his prime, gave us some thrilling fights. Seemed a very nice bloke outside the ring as well. Good luck to him.

Yep, all the best to him seems a genuine down to earth guy who put it on the line inside the ring...

The guy had guts and heart while suffering the loss of his brother.

    Wish him all the best.

One of the most entertaining, all action fighters of the last few years. Great war with Marquez and unlucky to have never held a full world title. Hope he has made a few quid out of the sport and can retire as reasonably well off and hopefully without any health scares.

Sounds like the retirement is out of his hands to me so I don't think there'll be too much danger of him making a come back but stranger things have happened.

One of my favourite fighters ever. Did he ever take a step back in the ring? Got chills in the Guerrero fight midway through when he was getting beaten, then in one round he just went mental going for Guerrero's body. Anyone else remember that?

Genuinely hope he stays fit and healthy now, and the retirement is precautionary over necessary.

I remember that. He looked like he was giving himself a bit of hope coming back into the fight then the referee penalised him for low blows.

    Always entertaining.

Oh yeah I forgot about that referee, I was raging. But that round sums katsidis up. Never gave up, never took a step back. Even when out of his depth he gave them hell. Gave Marquez a very tough fight.

Always remember when he was sparring in the dressing room before the Mitchell fight.

He was not there for a holiday.

Destroyed Mitchell's hype with that crisp left hook.
