Shut it. It's quite clear that you are one of those boxing fans who only thinks through nostalgia.

Every top level boxer is overrated. Do you think the likes of Fury, Wilder, Pacman, Spence Jr are not over-rated? Fury is a good fighter, easily the best heavyweight right now but he is still overrated by boxing fans and his own fans for example.

RJJ beats him by wide UD. Canelo is a great counter puncher who fights well at mid range and up close, but he is less effective at long range and has slow feet. RJJ would befuddle him at distance; get his shots off and then get out of dodge. Due to RJJ's awful second half of his career, his prime gets criminally underrated these days. Peak Jones is a H2H nightmare for any fighter. Canelo would have occasional success as he is a quality fighter, but he doesn't have enough to truly trouble Jones over the long haul.

BHOP is a tough one to call. This would be a stinker with BHOP fighting at distance and spoiling up close. BHOP would control distance well and make Canelo look stupid at times, but his low work rate could hinder him. I slightly favour BHOP in a SD, but wouldn't be surprised if Canelo got the nod.

Joe UD. Not as wide as RJJ's UD, but a clear win all the same. Due to Canelo's slow feet, I would expect Joe to fight him mainly at distance, like he did against Lacy and the second half of the Kessler fight. Much like RJJ (although in a different manner due to Joe and RJJ having different styles), Joe would control distance, not attack in straight lines, get his combos off, and retreat. He would get countered more than RJJ, but his chin could take it. Also, Canelo's pedestrian work rate is no match for Joe's legendary work rate.

Tony v Canelo is another tough one to call. This would be the most exciting fight of the lot, for me, as both guys have similar styles; both great midrange/up close counter punchers with slow feet. I could see these guys staying in the pocket for long periods and going to war. This has Fight of the Year written all over it. It would be a highly skilled, technical war. If Tony is fully fit and focused I would ever so slightly favour him, but it wouldn't surprise me if Canelo pulled it off. Close, great fight.

Ward by UD. Similar to Joe and Jones, Ward has a well rounded game and quick feet. Also going in his favour, unlike Joe and Jones, I would expect him to engage Canelo more up close. Ward can be rough, and he is stronger than he looks. I expect him to use his speed and skills to befuddle Canelo from distance, and then use his strength to rough up Canelo up close.
