Especially from Shane and Cotto fans.

Both of the mother****ers are doing some shameful ducking of their own.

Even Margarito was talking about "I need a big payday" and turned down a huge rematch... But his fans defended him saying "Boxing is a business." Now that Floyd is back and doing it, it's all of a sudden wrong again.

I don't particularly like Floyd, but some of you guys are way overboard with your hatred to the point that you let it interfere with a supposedly objective discussion. Pathetic.

Floyd fought the best, called out Cotto, Shane and De La Hoya when they were in their primes but they all avoided him. Now the shoe is on the other foot and many bloggers hate his guts? Funny how fast we forget.

Mayweather is the greatest of all time. Better than Ali, Duran and Sugar. His record stands for itself.

HA. In all seriousness the reason why Mayweather has so many haters is because of his ego. Saying 'I am the greatest of all time' is offensive to real ATG who have basically put their lives on the line to win. For Mayweather to compare himself to the ATG's and actually say he is BETTER than them - and then not to fight the best in his own division makes him look like a hyprocrite and is extremely offensive. It shows a massive lack of respect for what earlier boxers have achieved.

If he didn't constantly feel the need to tell everyone he is the greatest we wouldn't keep questioning the quality of the opponents he picks. To be the greatest you have to defeat the greatest in your weight division not the greatest in the lower weight divisions (ala Pac and Marquez).

Action speaks louder than words, and it is the general consensus.

    What can we do?

Only Floyd can change that perception.

He has 5 fights to shed that image, not that he has too.
    But it is a platform.
