what if Cotto takes Marg's best uppercut just like what he did with Judah and keeps coming?

i say it will be a terrible night for Marg.

this is what Marg people are not considering. everyone who has margarito beating Cotto seem to think that he is just going to blitz thru cotto. they can all see Marg handling Cotto's best shot, but they dont consider Cotto being able to take Marg's shot. They are both cumulative punchers so neither of them are going to KO the other with one shot.

Cotto has only shown in the past to be hurt/stunned against those fast, suprising punches. Margarito is neither fast nor does he throw any surprise punches.

So I ask again, what if Cotto can take Marg's punches, will marg have a plan B. I say no.

He wont take Margs best uppercut, if anything Cotto will find a way to keep that upper cut out of the picture, for him to take Margs best uppercut and walk through it with no effect would require an act of god somewhere in the middle there.

Honestly I expect this to be a very long night for both fighters.

Very well could be the case, i think in order for Cotto to win he has to find a way to slow Tonys work rate, to keep the fight at a much slower pace than Tony is use to fighting at.
if he does that and fights the perfect fight, he can and will win this, if he allows Tony to get off early and get going it will be a short night, but I get the feeling its going to be a back and forth fight, and a fighter inbetween rounds saying No Mas is a likey senario in a fight like this.

that is pure speculation on your part. you cant sit here and assume marg can take cotto's but not the reverse. that is where you can become biased.

marg's uppercut probably isnt as brutal as judah's. the combination of judah's speed and power is probably more dangerous than marg's slow looping uppercut.

cotto ate judah's extremely well and kept coming.

to assume, without any basic, that he cant take marg's is ridiculous.

If Margarito lands his best uppercut and Cotto keeps coming I don't think it will change anything. Niether fo these guys is the type of puncher that looks to get you out with one shot. Margarito is probably training to throw almost 100 punches per round. I doubt he will be discouraged if he doesn't get cotto out with the first one.

judah probably has better one punch power than marg b/c his speed would add to his power.

i'm not saying judah is stronger, but his uppercut is just as good as margs or better.

Judah's uppercut is ****ing nasty. I'd go as far as saying it is as equally hard as Margarito's but more effective due to his speed.

He almost ripped Rivera's head off with it.

Why would he have to slow tony's work rate though? Cotto can fight at a fast pace as well... In his fight with gomez he threw as many punches in those.. what, 5 rounds? than he does usually in a whole fight.

I would say to beat Tony you have to limit his out put, in other words to make it clear and avoid an out right slug fest which I think is the key for Cotto here, he has to take advantage of Tonys Poor balance, if Cotos plan is to get inside and work that is a dangerous place to be with Margarito, but if he keeps Tony turning while on the inside it will off set the work rate of Margarito.
Williams was able to keep Tony turning, but not from the inside, and Williams was able to do just enough to pull off the win, on the inside if Cotto keeps Tony turning it will be harder for Tony to find the smaller man, Williams had the right idea but his frame did not allow him to make Tony slow down, Williams had to do it from the outside, he was a big Target for Tony.
Cotto on the other hand is smaller the smaller guys you have to reach for you have to find them.
I think this will be Miguels plan for the fight, smart box from the outside get in turn tony throw turn him again throw turn him again and slide out.

you really shouldnt be calling people ignorant. we are just trying to be objective. you have no basis in saying that marg's uppercut is as powerful as judah's.

you're saying it is, but arent really providing any type of argument.

There is no arguement Judahs got power no doubt but it hasnt been the same at 147 as it was at 140, that is fact, Margarito has been knocking out welters for more than ten years.

    I forgive Cotto

. ..for what he's going to do to Margarito
