He didn't get dropped vs a flush Judah uppercut, which is a much harder shot, much sneakier and fired with accurate timing, whats a loopy shot that you'll see coming going to do by comparison.

Let's all get some boxing knowledge here people, this is ridiculous.:patsch

Margarito is used to fighters taking his best punches.

That's quite a few conditions to fulfill before inflicting damage. Hope for Margarito's sake that all the 'ifs' will come together the night of the fight.

Then Margarito will throw 100 more punches in round 1...100+ in round 2 and so on until Cotto falls.

Cotta might take the first few, but not 200th punch landed that happens to be an uppercut!

It's too bad Judah vs. Clottey won't happen til after this fight because it would give more perspective on this fight. Despite their sparring sessions, I expect Clottey to stop Judah sooner than Cotto. Judah had trouble with Baldomir, Clottey is just as sturdy but with busier hands.

As for Mosely, he was unable to seriously hurt both Estrada and Cruz-(drove me crazy watching those fights). I think his power at WW was long gone since Forrest.

As for Cotto's other top WW opponent - despite the beating he was taking -Urkal was going to make it the distance til his corner looked for an excuse blaming the ref.

Cotto isn't physically as big as Williams or Santos, or even Clottey for that matter. I'll be very suprised if he's able to take the heat and work the inside against Margarito.

Old Bob Arum is giving us another Hagler-Hearns with this one.

    Exactly.

Margarito will not get discouraged. He never does. If it takes 1000+ punches to put you out that is exactly what he will do. He trains for the long haul.

This is how I see it. I will very surprised if Cotto makes it through 12 as he gets a lot (Both Judah and Mosley landed 50% of their power shots and Urkal landing frequently too, but he had no pop whatsoever).

I think Cotto is a great fighter, but I think Margarito is better and a stylistic nightmare for Cotto. If Cotto wins, I will be very impressed and he will be right up there with Pacman for me as p4p #1 (assuming it isn't a controversial victory).

That being said, I pick Margarito to demolish him within 9 rounds, with the first few close, and then Margarito taking over in a brutal fight.

If I'm wrong all props to Cotto as I'm a fan of his too, but like Margarito more.

Judah is not the only fighter that has hurt Cotto, Torres is not the fastest guy himself and he is the man that did the most damage to Cotto, and he is wild just as Maragrito is.
Nobody said Cotto doesnt have a chance to win he does, but from my perspective his chances of pulling off a win means he must not make a single mistake in the fight, if he does and gets caught its over.

Cotto was lucky to get by Mosely.

Margarito can win by knockout, no doubt about it. Is Cotto taking this fight for granted?
