,,dont you think that pavlik is just as motivated if not more? Imagine if one of us just got the belt and became the champ--dont you think you would train your ass off so that you dont give it back. Just because the belts arent on the line his record/ego/pride is. Pavlik is just as motivated, if not more, for this fight. This to him is his first title defense fight and I doubt hes taken it lightly. Its going to be a great one.:bbb

The belt is not on the line. Ego and pride are of course but being the champ won't motivate him at all. Not wanting to get knocked the **** out will though.

Everyone talks about Pavlik's advantages coming into this fight. One disadvantage is all the attention he has been getting in his local town. Maybe it didn't get to his head but I wonder if it has been a distraction.

Once you reach the top your motivation is not on the same level when you was actually climbing on the ladder.

Both guys will be motivated. The difference in this fight will be in whether or not Taylor was able to improve his stamina.

Pavlik had this type of attention long before he even won the titles. That's what unique about Youngstown. The only change he has experienced has been more on a national level. However, he has limited the interviews and appearances. He knows what he has to do and he is 110% focused on doing it. I personally think the love and support he receives from Youngstown is a huge motivator. Youngstown is a fighting city. Keep in mind, we have several champions from this region.

It shall be interesting...I will not go out on the limb and make a prediction this time around..Im just going to say, the best way to beat a pressure fighter like Kelly is with a good stiff jab...Hope and pray that Taylor understands that

I am sure he does. But with the stamina that he has shown in recent fights do you think that he can fight and pump that jab for 12 rounds with a fighter like Kelly coming at him?

Yeah stamina is the main issue with Jermain. If it gets past 8 rounds, the odds favor Kelly significantly

Flip-flopping, aye. I agree with the "good stiff jab" scenario, however, Kelly went jab for jab with him until the right hand. Taylor needs to be elusive and keep that left hand around his ears. That's how he wins. Manny said JT fights "instinctively". That's his biggest problem and the toughest to overcome. This is why Kelly beats him. KP = KO rd 5.

I don't think enough. Kelly said pre fight, Taylor doesn't like to get hit. Kelly was landing and damaging Taylor from the beginning. Taylor was done by the 6th, not because he was 'punched out' from throwing wild blows in the second, but because KP was PUNCHING HIM OUT through out the fight. The effects are cumulative. JT's heart was gone by the 6th. Call it stamina if you want, but how do you train for damage like that? More running? I don't think so.

If JT wanted the title back, this fight would be at 160. He has no intention of fighting at 160 again. I think people are favoring JT because they liked the first fight, assume this one will be its equal, and want to see a third.
