Been a Cotto fan for years now. In the the build up to most big fights, especially recently, you get to see at least some footage of the fighters training; search through youtube and you can find quite a lot of Cottos. He never, ever trains with any intensity. Either he's hiding it and posing for the cameras, or he doesn't train hard enough. Miguel should have been in good enough condition to fight the whole fight the way he did round 1; boxing from the outside and if necarsary boxing and moving, and moving. He wasn't.

    noob.

I agree with the original post. Cotto should have stuck to his original gameplan instead of allowing Manny to adjust and then ad******g with him. Where was the jab? Where was the bodywork?

<edit>How the hell is a-d-j-u-s-t-i-n-g a word that needs censoring?

sorry but you should give Cotto more credit. He fought a very good, sharp fight the first half. Manny simply out boxed him and outfought him. Watch the fight again. Cotto was as sharp and fast as he's ever been, in fact he looked better then all of his 3 previous fights in the first 3-4 rounds of this fight. Manny was too much

Not completely sure about that, he did look focused and in good shape and after the 1st i thougt that Cotto might come of age, but as soon as he stepped out for the 2nd, Cotto's whole demeaner had changed, he wasnt on his toes as muchit was like he wanted to know try and see if he could hurt Manny.

Big mistake IMO, stick to your plan and win the fight, he boxed Mosely, i guess he respected Mosely's power and was more cautious, he didnt respect Pacman and it cost him, but surely once you feel his power like he did in the 2nd, you make a mental note that "i need to box this guy and not get drawn into a brawl" if you dont then surely your trainer drums this into you after every round.
