Go figure. She is an idiot. I have despised her dumb ass for years. boxing needs to clean up its act. money corrupts everything though so it never will.
7-5 at best for Golovkin! The Bird score card was way off, no doubt, but 114-114 and 115-113 is reasonable. Your boy did not dominate in the manner you believe....sorry!
Those scores are NOT reasonable. That's the whole point. They were the red herrings to make the overall result look "plausible" to people like you...and it obviously worked at least in your case...sorry!
The reason I say, aside from Byrd's scorecard, the judging was reasonable, is beacause, Alvarez landed more power shots in rounds 1,2,3,8,10,11 and 12. Now the question is, what judges wanted to see and what they consider better? If I land 3 jabs on you and you clip me with a clean, straight right across the chops, who should that round go to? It's very subjective! That is where things get tricky! All in all it was a good fight and I'm looking forward to the rematch!
The guy who scored it even apparently gave round 7 to Canelo (IMO a clear Golovkin round). Here's round 7 not in English sorry a clear GGG round. This content is protected The rematch was planned. I think even Byrd scored this round for GGG.
I agree with much of what you say. But: Canelo did nothing in Round 1 = zero "Power shots". He was forced to retreat all rd 1 - GGG dominated the real estate in there. Caneos "power Shots" came in infrequent short flurries and do not make up for him being in full-scale retreat most of the fight.
8 rounds to 4 Golovkin easily, Lederman had it the same. Over 90% in a poll had Golovkin winning the fight, hell, it was easy to pick a winner in that one. Oscar is corrupt, he had a rematch planned, even said there could be three fights in a row!
I saw the reaction to the fight before I saw the fight and don't understand all the fuss, yeah 10-2 Canelo is a bad card but 8-4/9-3 GGG is really as bad, almost all the most meaningful punches came from Alvarez GGG only claim is activity. I personally agree that GGG edge allot of the middle rds I think that prolonged stretch along with Canelo fighting on the back foot is why perception is how it is, but that fight was a draw or a close 7-5 win either way. Every time Alvarez let his hands go he looked the better fighter the guys needs better stamina for all the talk of GGG domination that was his only route to success pressure while Canelo rested. People are so caught up in Alvarez's movement but he's a counter puncher, by nature a counter is going to move back while the other guy comes forward so they can counter. Either way credit to both guys already looking forward to the rematch
Power shots is another tricky thing! A power shot is anything that isn't a jab! And given how powerful G's jab is, G's jab could have more pop than some of Canelo's "power shots". Not saying that was the case in the fight, just giving examples. As far as Canelo running all fight, I disagree! He didn't give G the fight he wanted. He showed he could adapt to his opponents style and have success. I personally think it was a good fight and could see how it could have been a draw on 1 card and G winning by 2 rounds on the other. In other words, what's with all the butthurtedness?
I love how they talk about Canelo landing two more power-shots than GGG did, when it's obviously much easier to land a power-shot on a man who's moving toward you than it is to land one on a man who's running away from you. GGG landed more punches overall, which is remarkable when you consider that his opponent was literally running away. The problem with boxing is that it's become a fanboy-driven WWE-style spectacle. "I'm Mexican, so I have to pretend that the Mexican fighter won, although he got schooled." "I'm a racist, so I have to diss the black/white fighter, even though he kicked ass."
if boxing so corrupt. Why do you watch it? just accept its corrupt then. Alot of people on here complained about the judges. Dave Morretti was called all the names under the sun but he judged in favour of your boy GGG. that trumped everyones claims there. it was closer than most people have it. Watch it. Judge again. It was a draw
boxing would be a lot more corrupt if most of the users on this forum were given the task of judging the bout. you cant judge a fight to save your lives. so biased.
