Jones at 160/168 is a perfect example of this, even though he's not the first fighter most people think about when they hear "defensive boxer". Another great example is Tommy Hearns at 147/154. And of course Joan Guzman at 122.

Floyd Mayweather is brilliant defensively, and has good (though not great) power.

usually doesnt happen b/c fighters while going through the ams and pros fight according to their strengths. If theyre great defensively, they dont wing a ton of power shots, and if they have massive power they give up a little of defensive prowess in order to land bombs.

Why not Tyson? In his prime he certainly had very good defense, and of course the power was there.

Duran was the best offensive defensive fighter in that while coming in he would slip so many punches and was so hard to hit. Rocky Marciano was tough to hit even though his was an all out assault winging hard shots. Marciano had very underrated defense. I would say Duran and Marciano

Gerry Peñalosa. As long as his opponents doesn't run away from him then they will surely hit the canvass.
