Which fighter in your eyes was the nearest thing to unbeatable in each division?

pacquiao punches more, faster and as or even harder than duran :yep

in my eyes a prime pac beats a prime duran. close match, I don't say duran can NOT knock him out, but if I would be forced to take 1 winner, it would be manny.
and floyd, the defensive better fighter than ray leonard does a duran-leonard II all over again.

    good list.

altough ray beat hagler at middleweight, or did it has to do more with hagler being at the end of his career?

I think SRL felt a Prime Hagler from the early/mid 80s would have been too much for him. He says himself in his book that he thought he could beat Hagler after watching the Mugabi fight, when he didn't think Hagler looked as quick or as sharp any longer.

Another interesting tidbit about that fight is apparently the original plan Leonard had was to try and go toe-to-toe with Hagler and cut him to get a cut stoppage (apparently because Hagler was talking to Leonard once while Leonard was retired and while Hagler was considering retirement himself, and Hagler said he was starting to cut easily or something to that effect.) However, in the last few weeks of his camp, Leonard almost got KO'd by Quincy Taylor, so he decided to box Hagler instead.

This is a good article, gives a lot of background info on the fight. :good
