McGowan was a Flyweight, not a Bantamweight. I stand by what I said.

I say Lopez by decision. I think it is the kinda; fight we rarely saw him in; a very competitive one.

I say McGowan has his fair share of amounts and gets the usually ultra-composed Lopez frustrated at times with his boxing...it's actually a very hard one to pick, not just from the styles but from the previous points as well in terms of time parameters.

I say Lopez wins on points. I think he had enough in the tank to go fifteen, plus I think he was 'sharper' if that makes sense (???)

I'm not disagreeing that Lopez has the ability to beat him, it's a good match-up, but McGowan was a successful bantamweight, though not a big one i'll say.

only because you ****in put them all out at once. It's supposed to be four fights every few days, that's the traditional way.

I agree Mcgowan cut in some fights ,but not all,he was a strong little fella ,as your old man would attest ,a lovely boxer ,and he would land often enough against Lopez to get his attention and respect.
Lopez was the more complete fighter imo ,but he never tested himself against bigger men.Mac did, Mcgowan by dec.

McGowan comes out strong to take the lead. & does very well against Lopez. But Ricardo's slashing fists do open up cuts, which does change the fight. Walter covers up more & is less effective. Lopez senses this and opens up his attack. McGowan's corner controlls the bleeding to a degree, but the damage is done. Lopez controls the late stages & takes the Decision.

I think I'd probably favor Lopez's firepower in this fight as well.

McGrain, the first one we agree on, even down to the round. I too feel Lopez on cuts in 11 rounds. Lopez was a different kind of puncher against a tough Scot, but Lopez in 11 nevertheless.
