Let's talk about the fighters who have the best instincts to end a fight....
Off the top of my head ( in no particular order)
Dempsey,SRR, Ike Williams (his kayo of Beau Jack was amazing),Duran...

Ike Williams was as good as any finisher I've seen, and the Beau Jack stoppage is not the only one on my mind.

I've only seen the Jack fight and the Gattica kayo. I'd like to see more Williams' footage, there isn't much out there.

The Gatica knockout is perhaps the best I've ever seen. To anyone who hasn't seen it: three knockdowns. A single, accurate left hook causes the first tumble. Another single left hook causes the next knockdown. An uppercut, double left hook and right hand - all thrown with full power, all landing flush - are thrown in the blink of an eye and fell Gatica for the third and definitely last time.

DPW, as one of the few people to have seen it, I'm sure you can vouch for me. It was an astounding display, especially seeing as Williams was likely on the downward path by that point in his career.

I've also seen the Bratton stoppage, where Williams broke his jaw. Bratton was mauled by the smaller fighter. I've seen the second Bolanos match, too, but that is more of a display of Ike's boxing and jabbing ability. Despite the scorecards, the fight (backed up by reports) was not actually close. I wish the other Bolanos fights were on film, where Williams trashed him.

If you will permit me an unlikley pick, Muhamad Ali.

The perfect finisher is the man who can drop his opponent in a chalk square on the canvas drawn before the fight like Sam Langford is said to have done.

Ali certainly seemed to be able to choose the time and manner in which he lowered the boom.

Yes Sir! I'll vouch for the Gattica KO. Brilliant precision punching! The footage I've seen of the Bratton fight is over so quickly. :fire

Gomez and Zarate at lower weights are two I would mention to go along with agreeing with the above mention of Ike Williams. Tyson and Louis at Heavyweight, Hearns, etc.

Marciano is pretty underrated in that department.

Of couse there is the Louis's, Dempsey's Robinson's, they always get named first.
