James Toney beating Michael Nunn, although I'm not sure I would call him a counter puncher. He was definitely elusive and was a southpaw.

Mccallum's win over Graham is probably a even better example.

Definitely. It's "dry Mexican salty veteran" versus "slick elusive southpaw" and it's a textbook case of how to dismantle a very unorthodox opponent. I think that the total superiority of Barrera is overstated and I even gave Hamed 3/4 rounds, but Barrera showed than the textbook can beat the stylistic innovator if followed to the letter and with a bit of clever application.

just want to point out that both decisions here vs flowers were very disputed.

roy jones defeated 7 southpaws in an 8 fight stretch in his time as light heavy champ. i don't think i'd categorize all of them as elusive and counter punching but some of them like harding, reggie johnson and del valle were decent fighters when roy fought them.

Well if we are including non atg's then Mares vs Darchinyan. Vic is a good counter puncher and was certainly playing that role in their fight.

    Thanks eveybody, keep them coming,

The bit that I highlighted is what I'm looking for fights where the Orthodox fighter dismantles the Southpaw with textbook boxing, not really looking for fights where the outcome came down to power or strengh

Any good southpaws that Robinson (on Film) or McCallum fought (besides Herol) ?
