I just noticed that Harry Greb and Benny Leonard both fought Soldier Bartfield. Also Young Griffo and Jack Johnson both fought Young Peter jackson. Just wondering what other all time great (or interesting) fighters shared common opponents that might be a bit of a surprise. Any other examples?
depends on how long you determine an Era? every decade, or a 20, 25 year period or what have you... a quick break down would be fighters who fought over 3 plus decades, that would be either side of 25 years and beyond, well beyond in a few cases. Loads of fighters fought 15-20 careers, but didn't necessarily cross Era's. also a fighter at the END of his career, fights a prospect or up & comer, who in turn goes 15 years say and meets, at the end of his own career, a new great or noted fighter. that would certainly constitute common opponents infringing into new Era's. anyhow 3 sure starts should pull up a good few greats...
