    who comes to mind?

James Toney comes to mind for me. Yes, he was a great middleweight and super middleweight. But i wouldn't say he was extraordinarily accomplished in either weight class. Accomplished sure, but maybe not extraordinarily so since he didn't spend that much time there.

Yet when you look at his caliber of wins, from middleweight up to heavyweight, its just remarkable. Just amazing. I think he is one of those guys who maybe doesn't have the case for being the greatest in any particular weight class but when you look at his resume overall, its just amazing.

I have Mickey Walker top 20 at WW and MW, based solely on fights in those divisions, but I wouldn't say he was "extraordinary accomplished" at either, whereas taking his career as a whole from a p4p perspective, "extraordinarily accomplished" fits perfectly.

    Hi Guys.
Chancing my arm a bit here, but could Arguello be such a fighter, I mean he wasn't the greatest FW, or in any top five I have seen, likewise with LW, and again possibly, with LWW , have I grasped the the objective of the thread ? , or have I undermined him, must say I think Langford is a great pic.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.
    Mike.

well that true but 18 title bout wins at the weight against the likes of Roger Mayweather, Sammy Fuentes, Frankie Randall, Meldrick Taylor etc oughta mean something right?

Just look at the tweener era you've got a whole treasure chest of examples.

The problem is what defines "extraordinary accomplishments" is arbitrary. You can argue Toneys got them at most of his classes except LHW and HW. Someone like Thomas Hearns got his career all chopped up but some of those pieces can still be described as "extraordinary".

The overwhelming majority of Langfords feats were at HW. If we erase Langfords MW feats from history his legacy doesn't signifigantly change. Langford had 1-2 fights at LHW.

Another Langford. Whats up with yall? Am I missing something here? This is not the first thread I've come across this.

Langford spent most of his career at HW.

If Langford split his career so evenly why does no one talk about all his glorious MW feats? Langford beat Ketchel(the MW champ) at HW.

I think you can make a great case for Alexis at super feather, the division you skipped, as being among the best ever … maybe even the best ever.

He made I think eight defenses at the weight with title wins over Escalera x2, Chacon, Limon, Navarette and 43-0 Ruben Castillo. That’s pretty strong. I consider 130 to be his best weight.

I don’t know that I can put him over these guys at that weight, but he belongs in their company:

    Sandy Saddler
    Azumah Nelson
    Flash Elorde
Hector Camacho (he was a force of nature at 130 and H2H I’m not sure anyone beats him at super feather)

There’s probably a few others you can throw in there, but Alexis stands in with the elite here based on resume as well as H2H imo.

I think you’re right about the other classes, buddy, but I have to give my Explosive Thin Man his props at 130 pounds.

EDIT: I’d like to call in @Greg Price99 for an assessment of AA at 130 in comparison to others at this weight only since he’s the man at that kind of research.
