All-time heavyweight tournament Deontay Wilder vs Floyd Patterson

This is ridiculous. I like wilder as much as the next guy, but Patterson by murder.

 

Part of the problem for me is that Wilder just *looks* like he doesn't know what he's doing most of the time. There's a certain caveman-like quality to how he fights that fills me with skepticism. That's the biggest difference between Wilder and Tyson at 20. They fought a similar level of opposition, but I never got the sense that Tyson was a knockout waiting to happen. He always looked disciplined and technically sound. He showed a crisp jab, two-handed power, smart aggression, strong defence, and a generally sound boxing brain. Tyson, even at 19-20, passed the "eye" test.

Wilder? Let's just say I'll be watching his next fight with great interest.

 

Floyd wouldn't last 20 seconds. He would barely be a cruiserweight today.

 

I know Patterson wouldn't be able to stand up to that power, that's for sure... Much more skilled, far greater, and likely objectively tougher, but that guy hits harder

 

wilder has been knocked down by 5 foot 8 inch fat guys.....
pattersons "glass chin" was at least hit by sonny liston, the hardest puncher of his era, not the disgraceful bum squad that wilder fights

 

Someone has quite the hard-on for Wilder.

 

Wilder probably wants to fight Patterson and call him out, dead or alive. Wilder will also call out Joe Louis, Joe Frazier, etc., yes, Wilder will call them out...............

 

Why put the glassiest big name HW champ in history against a huge puncher?
That clearly has an agenda, although it might backfire because Wilder is still unproven and is positioned against an ATG.

It might be over in one, but it might just as well look like the Haye vs Windmiller 'sparring session' that was on yt recently and made Wilder look like a fool.
