With Shaver's crystal chin? You can't be serious? Rocky blast him out in three.

Im not a fanatic of any fighter, but i do see what they bring to the table, and consider what advantages both fighters bring to the table and weigh up the disadvantages. Marciano would still make it a tough fight. Thats all im saying. :thumbsup

You have to be on drugs if one thinks marciano could beat Holmes. Holmes had way to much heart and talent!

    Lol.

I have a name for you too: Archie Moore. The "Rock" got dropped by a *39* y/o light heavyweight. Had that been Holmes instead of Moore, Larry would have finished the job.

As to your dimwitted point - Holmes' chin is legendary. Sorry but no 185lb heavyweight is putting Larry down for the count.

    Try again...

I dunno, Holmes is overrated, lots of championship fights going to cards and late rounds. If you could bulk up the Rock to about 205-210 I think he could knock him out like Mike, or give him a torrid night.

    Lol...

The desperation of Marciano nut huggers is legendary.

Holmes was an OLE MAN who had been off for TWO YEARS by the time of the Tyson fight. Primes Holmes has got up off the canvas to beat bigger punchers than Marciano, Genius.

    It's painfully apparent that YDKSAB...

Gotta take the rock on this one. His ties to the mob would make it impossible for Holmes to take the win... but seriously I'd pick the rock to take the first fight by late ko or ud cuz holmes comes in overconfident, but after that due to the conditions of the original question Holmes uses his kowledge and eeks out 2 uds. But if Holmes had to really fight a guy like rocky 3 times in a row and didn't magically heal up as if the last fight never occured, I could see his performances steadily drop with maybe a beating in the third fight a la Ali Berbick. Anyone remember seing the "fight" with Ali and Rocky. It's been over a decade since I've seen it, but I think I remember Ali having a bit of trouble finding rocky and rocky got to the body well.... but that was just some kind of weird publicity stunt and you probaly cant take any of what happened in that fight and apply it to the real world. The computer simulations of the day had rocky winning most fights against Ali....can computers be racist?

Tough one. I'm a big Marciano fan. The more they fight the more Rock breaks Holmes down. However, in a 12 round one off contest, during their primes, stylistically I think Holmes' jab can keep Marciano off him enough to win a ud. Potentially a late round ko for Rocky but I don't think Holmes is foolish enough to let this become a war, thus he wouldn't win by KO.

YDKSAB! So a light heavyweight who can't PUNCH can beat Holmes 2 times, but an ALL-TIME GREAT Puncher can't?

    Go watch WWE or UFC:patsch

Holmes overrated? Actually he is underrated. He made work of everybody at Heavyweight until he got to about 35/36...he had one hell of a run. Personally I think he lives in the shadows of Ali, Foreman, Norton and Frazier when in reality if he came to the sport a little earlier he would have been able to compete and/or be victorious against many or all of them. It's pure speculation but believe me in no way is he overrated in the big scheme of things. Now Marciano on the other hand....sorta kinda really is overrated.

You would think the skillfull boxer would win but that only gives Marciano a chance to get in. A Foreman would be better vs the Rock

    YDKSAB.

Holmes had already reigned as champ for 7 1/2 long years and defended his title 20 times when he lost to Spinks. Larry was an ole man FAR removed from his prime by the time of the Spinks and Tyson loses. The fact that you even bring up these fights only proves that YDKSAB.

Marciano was MUCH closer to his prime when a *39* year old light heavyweight Archie Moore deposited his overrated ass onto the canvas.

Prime Larry Holmes *destroys* Spinks and Marciano...
