Interesting that Holyfield is seeded higher than Foreman, but Foreman looks like he's cleaning up in the poll so far.

Grandad George was a stern test for a prime Foreman.

Pre-Kinshasa Foreman would have destroyed the dude. The seedings are a bit off here.

Yeah, I was surprised that Holyfield earned a higher seeding than Foreman too, but he received more votes in the seeding round. I think more of the classic forum guys needed to participate to improve seedings. My takeaway from how things are seeded is that the 90s was a better heavyweight era than the 70s.

    Nice idea though, the 'tournament.'

Thanks. I was desperate to do something to cut through the tedium of endless Floyd/Pacquiao threads. I'm still slightly offended that obvious troll threads routinely get more replies than any of my threads, haha. Quality over quantity!

You ranked Vitali as the 2 seed? I hope the seedings are not in terms of rank because if they are you should never be allowed to watch or write about boxing again.

The seedings weren't based on my personal rankings, it was based on board input. Everybody ranked their Top 10, and I collated and seeded based on frequency of mention and place of mention. The usual seeding methodology that's been around for decades.

If there's a blatant problem with Vitali's seeding, it'll show up in short order because he'll be upset in the next round or two.

Holyfield takes Foreman into deep waters and drowns him. Twice.

I watched the second Frazier fight, young Foreman was an underrated boxer and would catch up with Holyfield eventually. He'd have to take some bombs before hand, but we all already know he can... So Foreman...

    Or is this old?

unlike '91, holyfield drops '73 foreman with a pinpoint left hook whilst foreman is throwin 'em wide.

A prime 29 year old Holy on roids and GH struggled with a fat mid 40's foreman.

Prime foreman would crush the roid abuser in 4 or 5 rounds.
