Top 10 heavy, number 1 atg gypsy.

You have to be a freak of nature to be the unanimous king of the gypsies without a single bare knuckle fight.

    Top 10 or 15
I personally think he is top 10 because of how he handles adversity

Beats usyk and defends the title couple more times? He is up with the big boys

He needs a big win over Usyk (or perhaps AJ, if AJ wins the rematch).
Then we can talk about him ranking all-time.

Unfortunately, he threw away his prime years in 2016-2017, and he was disrupted by Covid19 pandemic in 2020-'21.

His resume is not good enough to be in top 10.

He hasn't done enough to be top 10. He will need to beat aj usyk and someone else to get there.

Fair point but I'd struggle to name 10 fighters I'm confident would beat him so he's top 10 for me.

Head to head, when he's at his best, he's clearly top ten - kind of like Vitali Klitschko.

But he hasn't accomplished enough yet to be in the all-time top 10, although he's top 20. Wins over AJ, Usyk, and Whyte would put him into the top 10.

How can rank someone who can't be beat by no man who is born from their mother anything other than GOAT?

He scores a straight 10 in many of these categories and very highly in the others

    Versatile
    Skillful
    Slick
    Heart
    Defence
    Speed
    Power
    Chin
    Road warrior
    Fearless
    Indomitable will to win
    Personality and charisma
    Powers of recuperation
    Ambassador for mental health
Sired five children and will probably sire at least five more before he's finished

Robbed of achieving the greatest comeback of all time when he should regained the HW title in his opponent's backyard after spending the previous three years in the wilderness abusing the hell out of his body with industrial amounts of cocaine, booze, and junk food and having to shed 140lbs of whale blubber after ballooning up to 400lbs +

Buster Douglas knocked out the legendary Mike Tyson but he lost to title in his first defence after ballooning up in weight and he wasn't battling severe alcoholism, mental health problems and a junkie

Mark my words, at least one of Tyson Fury's sons will become the HW champion of the world in the next 25 years

Agreed. If he beats Usyk and Joshua, then we'll talk.

A good top 15 or even top 12.

    But it's not over yet.

    Interesting question.

Since I've been following the sweet science (1980-present), I only feel completely comfortable favoring Holmes and Lewis over Fury. Fury would be a very live dog in both prospective matchups, however.

Am I suggesting Fury would defeat everyone else? No. Indeed, one could persuasively argue that a handful of other guys (prime Bowe, Tyson, Holyfield, Vitali Klit etc) could beat him as well. In other words, it's highly unlikely that he'd run the table without taking a loss or two along the way if he fought every one of them.

Hell, even some of the lesser lights like Ruddock, Mercer, and Morrison et al, if properly dialed in on a given night, could make for a difficult outing for the Gypsy King.

Nonetheless, Fury's size, mobility, boxing ability, and indomitable spirit would be a handful for opposing heavyweights regardless of the era.

Boxrec's very strange, "scientific" ratings have him at number 9 all-time.

Top 10 ? Are you guys crazy ? His wins and performance is not at that level. Don't get carried away just because he beat a puncher
