    Usually, boxing is rather unkind to older fighters in their last fight. But now and then, the old lion puts on a show for the ages vs. top competition.

    This is a thread dedicated to them in victory or defeat.

    YES. Lopez, IMO a unique lower weight technical type of puncher at age 35, defeated Patelo ( IBF Champion ) in his last ring appearance.

    90's Mexican featherweight war horse Alejandro Gonzalez actually went out on top, eeking out a competitive decision against Orlando Salido at the very end of his career.

    Monzon defeats Valdes

    These are really strong as the champion beat his top challenger and then retired.

    Tunney defeats Heeney

    Somewhat lower on the scale as I don't consider Heeney the best out there.

    Lewis defeats Vitali Klitschko

    I rate this a bit lower than the first two because it was on cuts by a fighter trailing on the scorecards. Still an impressive last win over arguably the top contender.

    Braddock defeats Farr

    Somewhat negated by this being a questionable decision.

    Jimmy McLarnin defeats Lou Ambers (and in the previous fight Tony Canzoneri)

    Win over a really top fighter.

    Maxie Rosenbloom KO's Al Ettore

    Tommy Loughran defeats Sonny Walker

    Ike Williams KO's Beau Jack
