Usyk was a win for all the guys like me who say more than size is involved, and matters. So many people on this forum countlessly post nonsense about how guys like Andy Ruiz would destroy Joe Frazier because of weight and size, it ridiculous. If you think Ruiz beats Frazier that’s fine if you think it’s because of size, I disagree. Frazier also pummels Ruiz for the record.

    Usyk is a beast!!!

I am elated. This is a win for Usyk but its also a win for Ali, Holmes, Foreman and others who are apparently "too small" to compete against these giant heavyweights.

I guess I gave AJ too much credit. Congrats Usyk.

AJ doesn;t know how to use his size and fought a dumb fight, didn't go to the body enough either. That's one thing that Wlad knew how to do that AJ doesn't. Wlad would have beaten Usyk because he would use his size to hold and lean on Usyk to slow and wear down the smaller man.

exactly. I get it I’m old-school I grew up in the 70s and 80s and those guys were smaller but it means a lot more than just size. So many of the younger fans can’t see beyond JUST SIZE these days.

AJ didn't use his size at all. Come back after Fury vs Usyk if it happens.

AJ doesn’t have a clue how to impose his size. I said before the fight, Joshua isn’t a physical fighter and can’t fight tall.

isn’t it possible that Fury just wins because he’s the superior fighter?? Usyk is not a small man. It’s fine I don’t expect anyone to ever learn anything

Thought Usyk may thoroughly Joshua so not the least bit surprised. It’s just styles.

can’t use this for how Frazier would do vs Ruiz or Joshua though. Unless you have 0 understanding of boxing and styles.

Ali perhaps but even then, not as comparable. Loma/Usyk uses in and out, lateral movements to counter. Ali uses range which is great when you’re the rangier guy.

100% styles make fights. All I’m saying is many on here put way too much emphasis on size alone.

As Joshua has evolved as a boxer - and he has - he has become increasingly gun shy. He can't absorb punches, his stamina is poor and that can't be improved. The AJ of 2021 is a much better boxer but a worse fighter than the man who stepped into the ring with Wlad. I'm not sure how he can reverse a trend that has been evident for 3-4 years...
