Andre Ward I think hes a good fighter and hes a smart fighter. Hes fast, foxy and uses his brain in there. Theres certain things he does do that I wouldnt call effective. I understand why they got him fighting all his fights in California. By watching the [Mikkel] Kessler fight I understand that better. Theres a lot of things he did that he got away with, Im not even talking about the headbutts, but just the holding. At lot of that was illegal but at the same time Kessler should have found a way to nullify that. Mikkel Kessler I guess he hasnt really fought many well-schooled American fighters. I think theres a lot he still needs to learn about the game. I figured when Ward started feinting and moving around, he would put a lot of pressure on him and thats what happened. He tried to beat Ward with brute force but Ward kind of nullified that by hugging and suffocating him. I think hes a good strong fighter but Id knock out Kessler. Andre Dirrell I think Andre Dirrell is a very talented fighter. Hes very fast but hes got to learn that this is not amateur boxing and he cant just run around and tap. Sooner or later you have to get in there and fight. I think when he learns to sit down on his shots and use some of his speed hell be a great fighter but the Super Six isnt the right tournament to be learning in so he may be in trouble. Arthur Abraham I think hes very strong but I dont think hes a very good technician. He relies on brute strength, which works for him, but believe it or not Dirrell may give him more trouble than anyone else with his style. Arthur Abraham likes to come in with his hands up and walk fighters down; the key to that is you have to hurt him early and then box him. Carl Froch Ive always liked Carl Froch. Hes going to give most of the guys in the competition trouble because hes very determined and he has a little more spice in his repertoire than Abraham and Kessler do. He rolls his shoulder more, uses the jab better, hes not as robotic as Kessler and Abraham. When it gets down and dirty, I believe Froch can deliver. Reading down the list I was thinking "God knows what he's going to think of Froch" But he's quite complimentary and overall it was quite an objective look at it all. I expected a few more "I'll kick the **** out of all of 'em on the same night" sort of thing but Confidence with a bit of humility is a good mix for a boxer.
seems like a good assessment. i like his words. i wish he would fight better cos whenever i watch him he is ****, head upright, hands not where they should, feet close together etc
Perhaps he should assess himself... 'He's got no heart, no concentration, no intensity, looks at his feet...'
