I've read from more than one place that Lacy wanted to fight Green but now Green is saying Lacy doesn't want the fight anymore. Anybody know the backstory on this? I would like to see Allan Green step up the competition.
I've only watched the Manfredo fight once, but I remember thinking Lacy lost and looked like he was done for but I learned from from the Casamayor, Johnson, and Tarver fights that you can never count out a fighter.
Allan Green is twice the fighter that Manfredo is and he isn't feather fisted either so I think Green could put Lacy away for good.
This would be a great fight for both fighters in terms of letting us know where each one is in their respective careers. A win for both means big name match ups in the near future.
Agreed. I've wanted to see this fight made for about a year now. Who IS Kessler supposed to be fighting?
What other fights did Green reject other than the Bute fight? I thought he was having management issues which was the reason for him dropping out of the Echols fight.
Lacy has a solid chin and would dump on Green ... Green has a questionable chin ... he has a problem with looking down at his feet. All Green can do is throw the left hook and doesn't mix up his punches. Lacy can punch with both hands and has power, he's lacking upper body movement ... but Green can't do enough to beat Lacy. If Green lost to Miranda who just is a one handed puncher w/ limited boxing ability, then Lacy would destroy him.
Lacy by KO ... Green can't fight ... and he's always looking down at his feet ... how is it a crossroads fight when Lacy on loss to Calzaghe and has won his last 2 fights.
