Allan Green is talking about a title shot at this point in his career -- but he hasn't did anything to prove that ... he really ruined himself with the effort he put up against Miranda and having Miranda lose badly (by KO) to Pavlik and then to Abraham. The blueprint was out on Miranda and it was figured out that he can't fight going backwards.
Zuniga is now a super midddleweight ... They were both top 10 ranked fighters and thats what it was ... they were both tough fights for Dirrell --
26 year old Dirrell, if he keeps his head together and doesn't start believing he's invincible, could be the future of the SMW division . The only question is: how will he handle the pressure when a top- SMW really takes it to him? Can he fight going backwards, how good is his defense when it really counts? Etc... I want to see the Battle of the Andres: Dirrell vs Ward. That would be an event for fans of the SMW division.
Green would be a perfect test for Ward and Dirrell. I think both would beat Green but it wouldn't be easy. Green seems to be heading the wrong way with his career but I wouldn't write him off quite yet. Ward and Dirrell have big futures ahead of them and fight in a deep division. It should be fun to watch their careers unfold.
Zuniga has said he would go back to MW. He is really too small for SMW. He destroyed Oganov. Dirrell had problems with Oganov. So, he was not ready at the time. He may become a champ, I don't know, he has great skills but is still green. Time will tell.
Dirrell TKO'd Oganov ... and he was showing a different more aggressive style against Oganov. I think he's ready for Bute or Froch ... he's more schooled and more skilled than the two --
