Is Antwun Echols a step up or a lateral from Rubin Williams for Green? Rubin fought Green pretty much to survive but probably hoped he'd get one in but never did. Echols drew with Williams. Echols has been in with Hopkins twice but appears to be on the down side of his career. Any chance Echols will be any different than Green? Maybe he'll be more aggressive I guess but does he have any better of a chance of beating Green?
I thought he was fighting Samuel Miller!? This is good news. I would think think Echols is a far superior fighter compared to Miller.
Boxrec has it scheduled for February 29. I think it is good that Green is keeping busy. I hope he can keep it up as long as he's not getting banged up.
Good late replacement but still no where near the kind of opposition Allan should be fighting at this point in his career. A big waste of time IMO.
Echols is basically at the same level as Williams right now and their fight last year in Auburn Hills, MI proves this. He hits harder than Williams, so it's not out of the question he could crack Green's shaky chin. But the chances of that are very slim, so Green should stop a shot Echols.
A prime Echols was a very good fighter. Monstrous hitter, decent skills, a ton of heart. Transport the Echols of six or seven years ago to the modern day, and Green quite likely gets decapitated. But at this point, Echols is a shot fighter. In fact, I thought he'd retired.
Damn.. I was really hoping he would fight Samuel Miller. The guy has a 100% glass chin and no defense. The odds on that under would have been great. A prime version of Echols could give Green some serious trouble, but a shot one at 168 won't. I don't know if Green will get a knockout, but it should be a more exciting fight than the Rubin Williams one was.
Considering Echols is a late replacement, this isn't a bad fight. Not that Echols has much left, but atleast he's a name who can still crack. Could've been a fighter with a losing record or less than a dozen fights or so. Not too mention he's better than Miller as it is. Is Echols better than Williams? Doubtful, but not much off. They drew over a year ago and Echols was past his prime than. Now he's just another year past it. Echols is getting worse while Rubin is probably holding steady. I like seeing Green on Espn, especially if he'd quit looking at his damn feet all the time. He just needs to step up his level of competition soon.
