***ALLAN GREEN CALLS OUT CHAD DAWSON!!*** New York (May 19, 2009) After learning of IBF and IBO light heavyweight champion Chad Dawsons interest in moving down to 168 pounds, Allan Greens mouth began to water. Now that Dawson has taken care of business by winning a second unanimous decision over Antonio Tarver, Allan Green has his napkin on his lap, eating utensils in hand, and is ready for supper. If hes coming down to 168, lets make this happen. I respect Chads skills as one of the best in the game, but Im feeling so focused right now that I dont see anybody, including Chad Dawson, doing much more than six rounds with me, said Green. Coming of his own impressive and devastating knockout win over Carlos De Leon last month, Green has demanded the attention and respect of the boxing world and proved he is a force to be reckoned with in the super middleweight division. In a recent interview Dawsons promoter Gary Shaw mentioned Allan Green as a possible future opponent for Dawson, along with the following names- Jermain Taylor, Carl Froch, and Mikkel Kessler. Give me a break, said Green. Nobody knows whats going on with Kessler and Froch decided to take a vacation for the rest of the year so he can find the stones to fight me. Taylor has his sights set elsewhere. So that leaves me. Tell Gary to bring it, said Green promoter Lou DiBella. If Chad is afraid of Glen Johnson and wants to move down- Allan is ready, willing, and able. Beating someone like Chad Dawson if he came down to super middleweight would put Green at the top of his division and force the champions to come to him. Allan loves the fight, I love the fight, and Lou DiBella loves the fight. Chad Dawsons manager Mike Criscio loves the fight. Gary Shaw would clearly be on board. Hopefully we can do something over the summer and then Allan can come right back and take one of those belts from Froch or Kessler at the end of the year, said Greens advisor Greg Leon. Hopefully the promoters are on the phone with HBO or Showtime now, because we want to make this fight happen.
Why the hell would Chad Dawson come down to 168 to fight.... Allan Green???! LOL what a joke If Green wants Dawson, he better come up to 175. And even then, Green needs to get in line cause there's a lot of guys aiming at Dawson these days.
Green is on crack (again) if he thinks Dawson is coming down to 168 for him. Rather than call out a 175er, Green should take on one of the many good fighters in his own weight division.
Just watch green begin negotiations with Ward or something. ANd then back out of those to negotiate with Bute. to then back out of that to negotiate with Froch. Repeat cycle a couple more times and we can see the circle of calling out by Green. Should be a damn nature show or something.
Green should have no problem going up to 175 lbs to fight Chad he has fought at 180 lbs in the past. If he wants Dawson so bad its only right that he goes up to Chads weight anyway.
Anybody who is stupid enough to pay greg leon for advise can't be very smart. Might as well just give that money to Frog Jenkins.
I didn't realize that Dawson might move down to 168. It doesn't surprise as he usually comes into weigh ins at 172-173 ish. If he goes down to 168, i would give him much kudos for going to the hottest division in boxing instead of doing nothing at the dead LHW division.
Green wants to fight everybody but fights nobody.....so good with his mouth but doesn't back it up!!!!
