Taylor has had the bigger fights = so he's well known. Even though Green is on a winning streak since his loss, I think that despite Taylor's loss to Froch/Pavlik he's still a skilled boxer and he's only lost to champions unlike Allan Green. So you can't argue Green should be in the super six on behalf of Jermain Taylor, and there's other fights at SMW for Green that can earn him more respect...
Allan Green is NOT going to get any big fights staying at SMW because of the politics, the promoters, and the networks involved. Green would have much better success moving up to LHW and try to make a name for himself there.
What are you talking about? Read what you typed. A SMW fight isnt a fight between 160-168, but a WW fight is between 140-147??? Hows that?? If it's above 160 but below 168 it is at SMW. If it's above 140 but below 147 it is at WW.
Bingo. It's the same reason KP wasn't invited (not that Pavlik would pull out...just that negotiating with Bob Arum is like a cold prostate exam). They have six fighters who all agreed to it relatively easy and the replacements seem like the sort of dudes (I've read Andrade, Bute and Miranda) who will jump in and handle business at a moment's notice.
Yes you can easily argue Green should be in the tourney, simply because he is an established SMW and has a better SMW record than AA and Taylor.
It's not like jumping from cruiser to heavyweight... Taylor has fought above 160 three times against good opponents, and he can use his experience from middleweight
I only messed up when I said 144 and 142 were WW fights, and they aren't they are also catchweights. You can say what you want, if the weight limit isn't 168, but between 160 and 168, it isn't a SMW fight it is a fight at a catchweight as far as I"m concerned.
Bute vs Andrade II was ultimately going to wind up on HBO. If I'm Showtime that's awfully worry some BTW.
