Last I heard he was supposed to fight on a FNF main event and went awol. I believe he was suspended but I'm not certain.
He on fire in 2006 and through part of 2007. After the Miranda loss he wasnt the same though. He did have surgery to remove a large part of his large intestine, maybe that has something to do with the layoff. It sounded as though he had Crohns disease. Maybe that has something to do with it.
This whole surgery thing is in the past. It has nothing to do with his current inactivity. His latest layoff is due to promoter and manager problems. It's seems to be sorted out now. He signed with Dibella and he is training in Arizona with Jean Pascal.
Heard somewhere that hes retired, but then not too long ago there was talks about a fight against Pavlik being ready but something happened then Fat Dan from ESPN and crackhead Leon of b0xingtalk started dissing each other because of it.
The only person I can see him fight now is Manfredo, if he gets past Bika, or one of the two American prospects Ward or Dirrell. Both scenarios are unlikely, I think. It seems he's de facto retired. Many boxers continue to train, but they don't always make a comeback. People say he's a good commentator...there's always that. Hope not, though; if he can straighten himself out, he can be a good contender. With the amount of action going round at 168, and hence, money, it would be a strange move to retire before having a proper go at the big time. Wish him all the best.:good
He'll fight again. He's still gonna be a big part of 168. Maybe he made a bad move or two in the past but he's young. He does need to get back in the ring. Signing w/ Dibella seems like a good move. A bit of a do over.
