allright abraham vs williams @160

agreed williams looked good against winky (i'm assuming this is who you are referring to). winky was able to get leather to williams's face its just that winky doesnt have any pop.

aa is a cruder version of winky's defense but when he does lay leather to williams' face its over.

this is not a knock on paul but aa would lay him out stiff.

 

One thing I've noticed about AA is that if an opponent hits him HARD, he tends to stay in his shell. If AA feels like his opponent's power isn't a real threat, he becomes a lot more aggressive. I don't think William's has enough pop to make AA feel treatened. That means Paul could be in for a short fight, and a long nap.

 

He beat a very poor version Winky, and he won by outworking a 37 yr old man that wasn't in tip top shape due to his age and the fact that he hadn't been in the ring in over 2 years. This was NOT the same Wink that beat SSM and toyed with Tito.

 

Williams should fight Pavlik and Taylor first, then he can try AA. I think AA is just too dangerous and hes favored to win the super 6.

 

I picked him at 160 because AA looked like **** in his last few fights at the weight. The OP didn't give any time frame qualifications. If AA dropped to MW TODAY, I think Williams out works him to a decision. Forget about what AA looks like at 168. That won't be the AA in the ring at 160. :deal

 

Abraham is just as crafty as Martinez in his own way but with three times the punching power (a number I pulled out of my ass, but you get the idea). He'd kill Williams. He might get outpointed for a few rounds first but it'd be on whenever AA says it's on and then it'd be a short night afterward.

and i would never suggest paul beat that version of winky. i was just pointing out that even that shop worn version of winky still landed to no avail. aa is still cruder than that version of winky.

 

I have to say, I think it was really just bad matchmaking for Winky that night. I know he's faded but I think that same version of Wright that Williams fought would have possibly defeated Sturm or most of the middleweights out there. I think Williams was just made to make him look bad at that stage in his career.

 

i think that had a lot to do w/ winky's lack of pop. he had nothing to disrupt paul's flow at all. his legs seemed a bit heavier since he was moving a lot less than he did a while back. so he was right there for paul to get into a deadly rythym.

but i will agree that wink that night still beats most of the mws. not a rave review of the mw division but that's the way it is.

You know how effective Marquez was when AA tasted his best shots.

AA probably has the best chin in boxing at the minute, and close to the best lb4lb power.

If Martinez put PW on ***** st, AA puts him in the ER.

At any weight, AA stops Williams.

 

AA, like a number of other fighters, fights up to the level of his opposition.

 

Yeah, people like to say that so the can rationalize the Lajuan Simon fight. He was through at the weight, period.

I call bull****. We all saw what we saw. To say Abraham would have been better if his competition was better is mere speculation at best. Fact is NOT determined by what you WANT to believe.

 

Abraham is always looking to put you down with one punch! I feel if PW gets hit with that one punch he would be put down!!!!

Paul fights way too close and that would allow Abraham to get to PW!

If PW used his height and reach effectivley then I would analize the fight differently but still think it would be a tough task for PW!!!!!!
