I think the first seven fighters or so anyone rates must be peerless in their own time, the rest is kinda personal choice. worthy champs and the odd flash in the pan.

Most rank Dempsey and Johnson far to high. Other than that, not so bad.

As long as Ali and Louis are #1 and #2, who cares though, really?

I think #1 and #2 are the only spots that are really important; after that you can number any one of 9 fighters in almost any order without upsetting me to much.

    yeah maybe,
but answer my question man, how come you rate him so low ?? a guy who beat so many other great fighters..
soly based on his resume alone he deserves a top three spot at least.
    laten we eerlijk zijn

Solid list, the first one, barring the Bowe pick

Liston is properly rate in a rightful spot in that list.

    Ali
    Louis
    Johnson

are on a tier of their own in the HW division, imo

How do you justify Johnson above Holmes, Marciano, Foreman, Tyson or Lewis is so far beyond my comprehension.

How would we view Larry Holmes or George Foreman had they fought to a draw with the likes of Marvin Hart or Jack O'Brien? Or worse, been KO'd by another light heavy in Choysnki?

The inconsistency of standards in judging these fighters is simply astounding.

I don't see how Lewis can be any lower than number 3. I can only see Ali and Louis being higher than him. Maybe you could make an argument for Holmes. Lennox Lewis is so underrated it's unreal

edit; I'd probably put Holyfield higher than Foreman and Liston. In fact I definitely would
