The alphabet soup has also benefited Lewis more than any other fighter. People have this image nowadays that Lennox was this dominant force since he won his first 'world' title. Stopped only by two unexpected and avenged flukes. However, the fact is that Lewis was not seen as the best fighter in the world until the second Holyfield fight (although he did get a huge boost after the first) and possibly even the Tyson fight. Before that, he was no more than an unproven no 1 or 2 or worse at times contender. Not too dissimilar to how Haye is at the moment. i suppose. I dont necessarilly think Lewis is all that overated, but i do think you have an interesting point that is worth considering.
