I just took a look at the Mason fight. He definitely had lost something compared to his form for Damiani. My question though, is did he take a dive? It didn't look like a big shot and Mason could barely keep his hands up at that point.
Hi No Neck. No I don't think he dived ( as in , threw the fight). He gassed. If you don't mind having another look , just rewind about 30 seconds or thereabouts before the final right hand , he took a short right hand that really took it out of him. He holds on for the first time in the fight, when the next one came he just folded. For me the Mason defeat was his most disappointing. He should've outmoved and outjabbed Mason all day long. It was the first time I'd seem Ty looking a bit fleshy. He said he had a heavy cold the days before the fight .It weakened him. The ring that night was tiny and he couldn't keep any distance between himself and Mason.Mason took one step forward and he was on top of him. He should still have won that fight. Mason was ranked number 4 by all the ranking bodies. Biggs would've been back in the pictute.
Agree...it's the punchers that cause him trouble. I think peak him and Tucker is close. Carl Williams also ( I know he didn't hold a belt, but top guy from that era)
