Alright! Let's have it! How could Hopkins POSSIBLY beat Joe?

A baseball bat.

 

I don't see how Hopkins would be competitive in this bout. The last time he fought an opponent whose legs were functioning, he dropped a pair of decisions to Jermain Taylor.

Now, up against a far superior fighter, one who's renowned for his speed, stamina, experience and chin, and with Hopkins being nearly three years older than he was for the Taylor fights, I just don't see him making it happen.

There's no question Hopkins would frustrate Joe, and he'd land the occasional clean counter right. But he'd simply get outworked, and Calzaghe would force him into the same offensive shell that Taylor did.

A meaningless victory for Calzaghe, albeit a lucrative one. I understand why Hopkins is his first option.

 

Hopkins aint in his prime either cuz! Are you serious? He won't throw enough punches to beat Joe. He waited on Taylor for 6 rounds!

 

The people who actually follow Hopkins and Tarver know that Tarver was a 3:1 betting favorite going into that fight. No one in their right mind EXPECTED Hopkins to beat Tarver let alone dominate him.
