Super Six was an exciting concept but has failed in practice. A fighter can’t be expected to jump straight back in the ring against a world class opponent if he convincingly loses a fight or even two fights.
A knock out format works much better in boxing. I would have a ‘Super 8’

    Quater Finals
    QF1- Rank 1 vs Rank 8
    QF2- Rank 3 vs Rank 6
    QF3- Rank 2 vs Rank 7
    QF4- Rank 4 vs Rank 5

    Semi Finals
    SF1- Winner QF1 vs Winner QF2
    SF2- Winner QF3 vs Winner QF4

    Final
    Winner SF1 vs Winner SF2

    Example Division
Jr Welterweight (based on Ring Ratings Dec 5)

QF1 Timothy Bradley vs Paulie Malignaggi

QF2 Devon Alexander vs Juan Urango

QF3 Amir Khan vs Kaizer Mabuza

QF4 Marcos Maidana vs Andreas Kotelnik

I get what you mean but If the guys are equal i wnat them to fight eachother, so why not a competition, no finals or kncok out system just competition.
Ko win gets you 3 points normal win 2 draw 1 lose 0, everyone fights eachother at a neutral venue (vegas is good enough).

Your format certainly wouldn’t hit as many bumps as the current Super Six did. I said from the very start that it seemed like a very demanding competition, and that so much will be taken out of the fighters in such a short span of time. But the responses were... “They’re fighters, that’s what they should do. Fight the best after the best”.

Well, two rounds in, and already half of the contestants dropped out.

The round robin format was doomed from the start. It took too long and forced fighters to fight elite top level fighters after losing, some for the first time. If someone was to check posts from before it started you would find that many of us were worried about that very thing, I think that I even predicted that two of the fighters wouldnt finish, I never thought that you would have half drop out.

Win and advance, lose and go home would have been great and we would have seen fighters riding high fighting at their best instead of wondering what a guy would have in the tank coming off a loss.

Should have added Bute and Pavlik. Four fights, two fights, CHAMPION.

They could have had a lower bracket but even that would have been loser vs loser so they were on even footing in terms of mental status.
